I try to call into the Bluebell whenever I visit the peaks. Over the Christmas period it boasts some fine roasts and in the summer the specials are always hearty and you get good value for your money. I disagree with certain reviews that the staff are rude and the place is not dirty. Over Christmas 2016 my friends and... More

13 of us arrived for lunch without a reservation which was unfair. However, we were made to feel welcome, a table big enough for us all to sit around was sorted quickly, and our food orders taken promptly. Food came within 30 mins and was fantastic. Lots of lovely yumminess! We were full but couldn't resist the tempting dessert menu... More

9 of us, including 2 children, called in today for Sunday lunch without a reservation. The pub was very busy with other diners and a large party but they still welcomed us. The gentleman behind the bar explained that our food would take a little longer than normal to arrive as the kitchen was busy with the large party's order.... More

I opted for the New Jersey chicken (absolutely fabulous) and my partner opted for the chicken curry which she told me, was also gorgeous. I would certainly recommend that you pay... More

Took refuge in here from Storm Doris during a stay in the Peak district. What an excellent choice. The pub was warm and cosy and we sat down to real ales, and first class home made food. There is a huge choice of pies, but be warned, they are huge ... and delicious. My wife had the chicken ham and... More

Came here yesterday for Sunday lunch after coming here last summer, get the feeling the owners might be leaving and the place feels bare, but still very good. Both had Sunday lunches however the roast potatoes were so hard neither of us could cut them. And there wasn't much gravy, we had to ask for extra. We weren't checked on... More

I think this pub has changed hand as on our second visit I found that it was different staff, there was one man behind the bar, who I felt was very ignorant, he came to collect our plates to which I complemented him on the pie I had for Sunday lunch, he didn't even reply to my comment and just...
