As far as cheese shops go this is not impressive at all. A fairly small selection and only two local cheeses. The rest you can buy them at any good supermarket. The two local cheeses, a goat cheese and a cheddar one, were very good indeed.

We stop here regularly on our way through Cowichan Bay. They have a good assortment of cheeses and the staff really know about each cheese. The good is fabulous and the environment is friendly and relaxed.

Very artsy kind of place. Interesting shops, restaurants, seaside walks., etc. The cheese place was very busy and they had some very interesting varieties to choose from.

My wife and I had a wonderful Brunch at Hilary's Artisan Cheese on Sunday. The information on Urban Spoon is incorrect. They are definitely open on Sundays for Brunch. Since their renovation the place has a really friendly and welcoming vibe. Our server, Chey was most informative and we settled in for a decandent meal. There were 5 features on... More

My daughter and I happen to be in Cowichan Bay and were told by the Seafood store this was worth trying. To our delight, we were pleased with the outstanding soup and sandwich. Terrific staff with great sense of humour. Benjamin the chef is so enthusiastic and was a delight to meet. We will certainly be back again. Just one... More

Our driving tour took us to Cowichan Bay very late in the day on a beautiful sunny autumn Saturday. We popped into Hilary's for a quick soup and sandwich as we knew we were having a late supper. They had been so busy that day, they had nothing left. When we said we had planned to share a sandwich they... More

Great food, wonedrful cheeses. Try their location on Fort St. in Victoria if you can't get to Cowichan Bay.

Loved the different aged cheddar a and goat cheeses. We tried the 8 year old apple smoked and red pepper cream cheese and the garlic cream cheese. It was all so good with our prawns

It's hard to find a cute little cafe that has character and charm as well as great food. Hilary's cheese has it all. We walked in to an amazing smell of fresh homemade soup simmering on the stove top, and a roaring wood burning stove. The perfect spot for a relaxed lunch on a crisp February afternoon. We enjoyed a... More

Hilary's is a wonderful spot. For a homemade soup with heavenly bread and cheeses of your choice...warm up on a cold foggy day and watch the marina life and docks. The gulls and the ocean are there to enliven your mealtime! watch gulls shelling clams...eagles trying to catch pigeons off the rooftops...you name it. It's like a VERY large tv... More
