A visiting friend and I stopped in at Red Hen for coffee and some sweet snacks. Things were hopping, which was nice-- a good vibe with patrons eating and chatting. I have a couple of thoughts about our visit. First, as usual, I thought pricing...More

I suppose it is possible to enter the Red Hen, purchase a loaf of freshly baked bread, and leave. But I've never done so. It seems impossible to resist the delicious pastries or the inventive sandwiches or the savory soups that are on offer all...More

While you may think the prices are a bit steep for their delectables, they pay a good wage to their employees and they offer retirement. So, I don't mind paying a little extra knowing that my neighbors are making a livable wage.
