We visited De Meo for a friends birthday and began by ordering some drinks, some of which never turned up despite repeating the order, a sign of things to come. We proceeded to order the sea food risotto, our friend had the seafood pizza, we realised part way in that the mussels tasted gone-off to the point where you wouldn't... More

Just had to say this was the best calamari I have had in Bristol (possibly a lot of other places too!) Rest of meal very good also. House red very tasty and good vfm. But calamari was fresh, perfectly battered and piping hot. Thank you Di Meo.

Really nice meal. I had the tuna steak which was fantastic, perfectly cooked. House wine was lovely. Service was attentive. Took what was left home in a doggie bag.

We have been going to this restaurant for many years. The food is always tasty and reliable. The specials are usually delicious and the House Wine is excellent value. Good service and not expensive.

Don't be put off by the exterior - it doesn't really shout quality Italian food. But that's what they serve. I don't think I have ever had tastier. Three of us shared an aubergine/tomato gratin (fantastic) and then we all had pasta dishes - cannelloni with spinach and ricotta, tagliatelle prawns and smoked salmon with vodka (though we couldn't detect... We've been to Di Meo a few times and always enjoyed the family run atmosphere and great food but unfortunately our most recent trip has put us off for life. After finding a hair in my pizza (baked into the crust and protruding out) I discretely showed the owner who just chuckled and suggested it was probably just a fibre... More

As we are locals we eat at this long-established family run restaurant all the time. Reviews by others on here are spot on. Ignore the exterior & the fact that the interior is a tiny bit *dated*, rather than the copycat *cutting edge* which is to be found all over our city with overpriced bland food to match. Di Meo... The food is excellent with good specials. One of the best family run Italian restaurant better than the chains we have in UK. We always enjoy coming here when ever we are here. Thanks a lot to all @Dimeo

Nice people, good service, nice atmosphere, excellent food. The seafood risotto was as good as I've had anywhere. I had a mixed salad with it, which again was excellent. My partner had pollo alla masala with a side dish of peas and bacon, and thoroughly enjoyed it. We also had tiramisu and the banana/rum/cream/ice cream deserts. Wow. We found a... More

Do not be put off by the exterior; once through the door, the decor is that of the high quality restaurant this is. The food is excellent, service prompt and atmosphere cheerful. The pasta and veal I had were outstanding in quality and size of portion. The wine was not quite so good but all was very reasonably priced. Make... More
