Fortunately for me this is one of my locals. The Old Bookshop achieves something that all pubs aspire to: your local boozer, a great neighbourhood restaurant, somewhere to see a band, outstanding roast on a Sunday - not all necessarily at the same time. If...More

I remember this place when it was an actual bookshop, but until today I had never visited it as a food place. Went for the roast dinners. Great atmosphere, service, and food. The whole setting is like a cosy curiosity shop, and reassuringly packed out....More

Visited with old friends who recommend, great service, happy staff, lovely relaxed atmosphere. Food was excellent and good value for money (£17 2 courses). Will definately return next time we visit. Very popular would recommend booking, free street parking on a Sunday too.

Cosy corners to drink in an a large range of antique paraphernalia such as steam engines, brass instruments and old radios. Worth a visit if you're in Bedminster. Scores 6.5 @INNvestigated

We ate here several years ago, not long after it opened I think, and enjoyed it so much we always wanted to return when next visiting Bristol. Since then, it seems to have expanded to provide a bigger restaurant area, with their seemingly unique, quirky...More

I so wanted to like this place. It's independent, run by bright young, hip things. What more could you want? The roast potatoes are to die for, the Yorkshire pud pretty good, the veg al dente and the gravy great. But, the big big let down...More

Been here many times. Never been impressed with food but always enjoyed drinks and live music. Having a drink with a friend and got asked to move so that someone could have food - they said that they'd booked someone for food but didn't have...More

The Old Bookshop is a nice, softly lit, bar/bistro. A good range of beers and lagers. A small, but imaginative, menu. I had a ‘small plate’ of meat balls in tomato sauce. It was full of flavour. My friends both had the haddock, which they...More

The Old Bookshop is a small, eclectic cafe/bar that serves good food at a fair price. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. The walls are covered in old photographs, typewriters and curiosities. We have guest chefs and pop-up kitchens each month, so menu changes regularly. Don't expect a stuffy restaurant, we are just a quirky little bar that does great food! We also serve delicious cocktails. Our smoking garden has a wood burner to keep you warm on chilly evenings.
