We had a pre-concert bite to eat in H Bar. It's cosy and the staff are friendly. There wasn't much of a food choice though and whilst the food itself was home-cooked the portions were small and basic and it was very overpriced, I think. I had a beef "stew" but there were no vegetables - just lumps of meat... More

We went here for lunch before a show and i would not return. The service was extremely slowand disinterested. The food was very expensive for what you received. Our soup and coffee came our cold. Soup sent back and then took a good 20 mins to return whilst the rest of the party tucked in. We did receive complimentary cakes... More

we had a hurried snack in the form of a toasted cheese sandwich , before the concert . Whilst the staff are great and very attentive then sandwich was too thickly sliced and so hot it burnt my mouth . ( microwave ? yuk) it took a long time to cool by which time we had to dash so left... More

We may come back given there is a dearth of decent places to eat within the immediate vicinity of Colston Hall. This place is ok but could be so much better. Food was ok, I suspect a little production line dressed up as something a little better. Waiter forgot one of our starters, brought only the olives, so appeared a... More

The H Bar restaurant is a well presented modern restaurant with a carefully considered menu and is very convenient for those attending performances at the Colston Hall. Unfortunately, on the evening that we attempted to eat there, the service was both erratic and slow although the staff were friendly if somewhat inefficient. The food however was virtually inedible. It had... More

We decided to eat "in house" in Colston Hall before a show to have a relaxed evening. The restaurant was full, so we went downstairs to the H Bar Cafe. Having order, and being assured that the food would be out in plenty of time for the show, we sat back and enjoyed some good wine and people watched. After... More

This is a pleasant place to have good food and takes the hassle out of attending an evening performance - traffic and parking can be a problem in Bristol so it's nice to get there early and have a nice meal. The menu is small and limited, but the food was perfectly cooked. Service a little slow but everyone served... More

Decided at the last minute to eat at the H Bar Restaurant before the Bootleg Beatles gig at the Colston Hall. They warned us that the food might take a while but were confident that we would be away for the gig - which was of course in the same building. Although the Colston Hall complex is huge the restaurant... More

We ate at the restaurant in advance of a concert at the Colston Hall this week, booked a table early (6pm for a 7.30 show) and had a great meal with excellent service, a fantastic, relaxing way to start the evening. The menu is not extensive (about 6 main courses) but our meals (steak cooked perfectly and the chicken dish... More

We had a good meal here before attending a show at the Colston Hall , booking by email from their web site. We got a prompt reply confirming the booking and it was an enjoyable experience adding to our enjoyment of the evening. Friendly service from a small but varied menu , the vegetarian options were excellent and they were... More
