Every year for about the past 10 years we celebrate new year's day with friends by eating an evening meal at San Carlo's. The meal is always delicious, good quality service and consistent with what you expect from a really nice Italian restaurant. Always a...More

We have visited SAN Carlo for lunch on Sunday. The starters were good, worth the price while the mains - pasta with sausage is unbelievably spicy. I have only finished 1/3 of it. The bill comes for a bit over £60 (including optional 10% service...More

What a beautiful restaurant, extremely cramped but they seem to fit as many tables in that they can. The food was disappointing. A bit of a feel Of Rosso restaurant in Manchester for the decor. Very nice and excellent amaretto sour cocktails 🍸

When visiting my Son in Bristol myself and family decided to go to San Carlo as from the outside it looked great, however, looks certainly can be deceptive. A large restaurant with every inch taken up by seating, I should have realised when I saw...More

Easter Sunday lunch. Excellent food, good service, lovely atmosphere. We walked in and were seated immediately as a table of 4. It was bustling with families including a-couple of large parties of Italian families. We had a lovely, relaxed meal. Reasonable value for the quality...More

This is a vast restaurant and clearly popular as the tables are literally crammed in. We were sat on our table for two about 2 inches from the tables of two either side . Any thoughts of a private conversation or romantic interlude were as...More

Been using San Carlo for over 20 years....always been reliable for great food and service. Went recently with guests....poor reception, poor table ( even though nearly empty), chaotic service, but worst of all badly cooked food, which is usually excellent. What’s gone wrong?

Big and very busy restaurant which says it all. Super choices on extensive menu. Food was well prepared and nicely tasting. Waiters were ok but good biz to the place. Located very centrally and worth a visit.

Closest, but not necessarily cheapest, would be the multistorey carpark right next to Mercure Grand Hotel on Broad Street

No picture of the menu but the prices are very reasonable, I think I had the shellfish for main and it was about £30, but that was at the top end of price range.

Description
San Carlo is a popular and award-winning Italian dining institution in the heart of Bristol's bustling Corn Street. The restaurant's lavish dining room – with tiled floors, neutral décor and electric blue accents – has a unique Mediterranean ambience and is always busy with a vibrant local crowd. The buzzy atmosphere, bold flavours and warm hospitality at San Carlo combine to provide an ideal setting for group parties and corporate events. We love the modern yet authentic seafood-led menu, and favourite dishes include the spaghetti with shellfish, garlic, chilli and fresh basil in a tomato sauce; the classic tuna carpaccio; and the traditional spiced Italian sausages cooked with Borlotti beans and served with grilled polenta.
