The restaurant is very easy, but with a good feeling. Indian food ate tasty and the staff is welcoming. It’s not on the main street but it’s not do far. Try it if you want an alternative place!

A great cafe/restaurant for a good thali style curry. A short menu offering just enough choice and doing them all very well. Excellent chicken. Nice portion size. Friendly service and nice atmosphere.

If you're after a bog standard chicken bhuna and pilau rice then you might consider somewhere else to eat. However, if you're prepared to have your horizons expanded, your senses stimulated, and your mind blown then I can't recommend this restaurant too highly - this...More

Visited on my first time in Bristol and being from East London I've had a lot of curries. We found this as good as the best- if a bit more expensive, smaller portions of v tasty chutney. Def worth a visit. Helpful staff and no...More

This was the first Thali cafe I ever went to and - while they all serve the same delicious food and drinks - it's still my fave. Loads of colour and character, small and intimate enough to be cosy, and a charming view out onto...More

I don't understand the hype around this place. The house chutneys were very good, but everything else was a disappointment. We tried the chicken thali and spinach paneer thali, both of which were bland and watery. I know this restaurant has a good reputation... I'm...More

Thali is a great place if you want a relaxed dinner/lunch in a small or large group. It has a great vibe and is great for casual dinning. The food selection is great and meals here are always good, but i have noticed that they...More

Thank you for taking the time to give us some feedback. I am sorry that you felt that some of our dishes were lacking in flavour. I have fed this back to the team to get that spice level just right! All the best, Amy

We've been here a few times over the last few years and always had a great meal. The service has always been a little hap hazard, but the food has always compensated for that. Until now. Last visited this restaurant at Christmas last year, since...More

Dear Mike, I would like to apologise for the dissapointing experience with us on your last visit. We do pride ourselves on excellent food and service, but appear to have let you down here. We have recently updated our menu, inspired by Roadside Indian Dhaba...More

The restaurant wasn't busy (a late lunch on Saturday) so we had no problems with service, which was prompt and friendly. They might be a bit under-staffed when things get busy. Not been before and was hugely impressed. The food was fresh and different, and...More

Famous for Thalis but you'll find classic Indian snacks, coffee and cakes on the menu too. Quirky decor, great atmosphere, free Wifi, kids welcome. Award-winning Tiffin Takeaway scheme. Equally suited for groups, families or for a romantic dinner. Contact us about hiring the whole back room for your party or celebration. This is the original Thali Cafe, located in the hub of Montpelier, it is one of four Thali Cafes in Bristol. We avoid mainstream locations in favour of areas with a strong sense of community where we can foster relationships with local people and businesses.
