We ordered two fruit scones, which were five pounds each. For almost double the usual price of a scone, we were expecting them to be great. How wrong. So dry and flavourless. I also ordered a hot chocolate. Over 50% of my cup was just foam and what little milk there was tasted absolutely foul. They had used instant 'just... More

Stopped off for coffee this morning, we ordered 2, fruit scones with jam and cream. Coffee was lovely, my son in laws sausage sandwich great... The scones tasted horrid, they were dry and no mater how much butter you spread on with the jam and cream, they still were really grim. My daughter and I just couldn't eat them. The... More

Café in nice location, nice staff, nice food ( except for the awful bread ) bit pricey, very noisy, ( half term manic ) fabulous cheese deli, and out of this world butchery shop well worth a visit.

Our orders were taken promptly and the food arrived in minutes. Perhaps the service 'problem' has been addressed, or we arrived at a good time. The client profile is silver dollar and the occasional mum.

Delicious food here, particularly the scotch eggs, but far too many helpers milling around rather inefficiently. I queued for 20 minutes for a cup of coffee, and there were only two groups in front of me. Tip - avoid Sunday lunchtime!

We hadn't been here for over a year due to a poor experience where we ordered food (1 sausage roll) and waited over half an hour for it, it never arrived so I asked for a refund and left. Anyway, went back yesterday. Food and cakes look great. This is where it ends. My girlfriend ordered a cheese scone and... More

How frustrating that now when I go to the shack to order a sausage roll half the time it's refused to me unless I pay £5 for the grossest most watery grey sludge chutney and the other half the time I'm allowed to buy it on its own. Where's the consistency? I can see that you want to adapt the... More

visited on Saturday - very busy and had to wait for a table - the café only does light snacks but the 'Wood Fired Kitchen' had their van parked outside doing tasty dishes for lunch. Apparently they are there every Saturday and Sunday and long may it continue! Had the Lamb flatbread with spiced chickpeas, buttermilk tahini etc. and it... More

Fantastic roasted veg and feta stuffed roll - so huge I didn't need a cake (shame). Helpful and friendly staff. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is that the outside door kept opening and letting the snow and frost in!
