Me and my sister came here on a Sunday for a roast. We hadn't booked so were lucky to of gotten a table. We were seated quickly by a young girl who was friendly enough. We decided to order a starter (Big mistake) The starter...More
Hi Ladies, Once again we are very sorry for standard and quality of the service and food. We were, indeed two staff short, at least..!, not your fault, obviously. We were overrun with a particularly busy Sunday. We are a new business and are still...More
I live in Fen Ditton and had heard mixed reviews about the Ancient Shepherds so decided I must see for myself. Was shown quickly to the table by very friendly staff. The specials board was pointed out to us. Pate, whitebait, sausages and mash and...More
Hi Dee, Thank you so much for those kind words and support. Village pubs need local support , without which they simply don't survive. See you again soon, BW Ronan
Welcomed by Ronan and served very well with food. The Ancient Shepherds has two areas one side appeared to be for drinking, the second side was a split level restaurant. Very quaint look with a modern twist. Menu simple but ample. You can either order...More

Dear Karen, Many thanks for the excellent review. Looking forward to seeing you again, BW Ronan

So maybe I should keep this quiet because we arrived and were able to get a table without booking on a Saturday night. The food was super, not expensive and our plates were completely clean at the end. Good variety of ale. Very tasty risotto,...More
Ate here after very rainy day; just across road from b & b. Both had moules mariniere, then lamb rump and burger with all trimmings. Washed down with bottle of Shiraz and waddled back across road 😁. Service and food just fine; thanks.
Unfortunately this meal was not particularly successful. One of our party of 9 adults and 2 children has coeliac disease, which we had informed the restaurant in advance and been assured they could provide appropriate food. On the day which was a Sunday, the only...More
We went for Sunday lunch to find the best and treacle tart off the menus because they'd been too busy. The lamb rump was delicious however and a good alternative choice.
