Decided to return to the restaurant as we had such a wonderful experience last year. Ate from the steak night menu, and it didn't disappoint. Wonderful food and excellent service. Highly recommended.

During October half term I treated my wife to a beautiful lunch at The White Pheasant. Great food, service and welcome and delighted to find that the feel and quality is as good at lunchtime as it is in the evening. Well done guys Mark Goldsack

Very warm ambiance and polite service. What was lacking was that personal touch, like taking your coat and other general practices. Price was heavy for the size of portions and you can get a better choice for less locally. I would recommend more of a restaurant like manner, to accompany the excellent atmosphere. A careful study of costs would be... More

We enjoyed the three course set lunch which was perfectly cooked and excellent value on an early winters afternoon sitting alongside a blazing log fire and it was delightful. Just can't understand why the place wasn't heaving. Only one small criticism was that the home made bread wasn't very appealing, too dense! The set price menu although a bit limited... More

We arrived a little early so took a drink at the bar, drinks were placed on the bar 4 feet from where we were sitting so had to retrieve, the pumpkin amuse-Bouche was the second most disgusting taste I had ever had inflicted, the raw taste of garlic was far too powerful. My salmon salad starter was good but my... More

Not visited for a while but great to be back. Even better than remembered. Owner is chef - always a great sign - and dishes very well presented and tasty. Polite timely service and no rush to leave after lunch, once you're in you're in. Very enjoyable!

We had dinner at the white pheasant. It is a lovely, clean pub, and the welcome we received from the front of house was very warm and friendly. All the staff were very friendly and attentive. The tuna steak was delicious and presentation was excellent. The only thing I would say is the amuse bouche was the same ingredients as... More

We arrived to find a nice log fire burning in the corner to be greeted by both waiting staff. We sat at our table and we were the only people in the restaurant. A second table came in later. We chose a glass of prosecco to start and ordered a crayfish cocktail with grapefruit jelly and gingerbread and their signature... More

Visiting the area, we booked for my wife's birthday, due recommendation. We were not disappointed as the food was truly excellent. However (no complaint, just constructive criticism as we mentioned when asked): The plate my wife's stone bass came on was stone cold and the meal could have been hotter. My pheasant was truly excellent. The starters were exquisite. We... More

We went to the White Pheasant for the first time for my birthday lunch and was very impressed. The only reason I've given 4 out of 5 is because it was a very dull day, quite chilly and the difference the fire being lit would have made our experience much more pleasant. I did mention it, (which I have done... More
