What a fabulous little find! Best food I have eaten in ages. Menu is quite limited BUT the quality is excellent. Very good value and not over priced. Portions were generous. Had the beef salad - not sure whether I would enjoy it but it was delicious. Unsure about the walnuts when ordering it but cannot recommend it enough. We... More

Food was extremely tasty. I had mackerel and salad and hubby had pigs ears cooked in bread crumbs and complimentary salad. Second course was duck and red cabbage and hubby's was oxtail with pickle onions. We were impressed with pudding but went for the coffee. Thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

Our favourite place in Chester, and glad to see that the standard remains so high. Visited on a busy Saturday evening. Service was friendly and attentive, and the food is just fantastic. Starters of smoked eel salad and garlic prawns were both extremely tasty and well presented. Mains Dishes both excellent too. The lamb with mashed potato was really superb,... More

It was an impromptu lunch. We ordered Hendricks gin with elderflower cordial to get us in the mood along with a small bowl of lovely olives and warm sourdough. For our mains we both chose the pork belly. Never have we had such a delicious plate of food. The portions were generous and all the vegetables were cooked to absolute... More

We have been lots of times and had a really nice meal but sadly this time was different. Starters were great but main courses were a big disappointment. The lamb shoulder was like pulled lamb in a burger shape and was very poor whereas my wife had the chicken in broth which was unusual and just wrong! The combination of... More

We called in for coffee mid afternoon and the drinks and pastries were very good. Looking at the menu for dinner, we wished we booked this instead.

We visited the restaurant on Friday evening, fabulous food I had the sea bass and my husband had the lamb. Lovely to have a meal with originality, creativity and with delicious flavours. I would certainly recommend Joseph Benjamins to family and friends wanting to visit a good restaurant with excellent service and ambiance.

Thank joyful1912
