You might be tempted to visit here for the view from the terrace ( Tarmac drive ). Don't it is just not worth it . I came here a year ago and was amazed at how rude and ungratful the manger/owner was towards a nice elderly customer , so I decided to see if it could get any worse .... More

Stopped for a lite bite. Plastic furniture on the patio, we went inside for a menu and to order. A bit unfriendly as they appear only to tolerate patrons not welcome them. An example would be payment by Cash or Cheque ONLY. I ordered a cheese and tomato sandwich at £4.60. When it arrived, it was cheap supermarket sliced bread... More

Cannot fault the Riverside Tea rooms, everything is fresh with home made cakes and if you want a lunch, they do great sandwiches and an all day breakfast. The staff are very friendly , you may have to wait a bit longer for your food but because its prepared to order its well worth waiting for...a BIG thumbs up from... More

Came here a few weeks ago on a nice hot day and decided to go into this cafe where the service was excellent and very helpful. The food was tasty also and the view of the river is great. Had no problems here all i can say is it is a little pricey.

Called in at around 3.50pm for tea and scones. I asked if we just find a table the lady said yes but take a menu but there's no food the kitchen is closed. We didn't mind as we only wanted a snack and a sit down. As we looked at the menu one of ladies behind the till said 'shall... More

Out for a pleasant afternoon in Chester with our grandchildren and decided to stop for a lunchtime snack. This premises seemed to be perfect, ideal location on the banks of the Dee with outside seating, so we found ourselves a table and settled down for some lunch. Ordered 2 Toasties and Chips ( were advised it was a chip free... More

Where to start! This place really should not be in business. Tea and Coffee both absolutely tasteless, I gave up on my pot of coffee after half a cup and shared my wife's tea which was also dire. In all fairness the sandwich tasted ok, but the general level of hygiene that we witnessed was off putting. The cakes were... More

Staff not very cheery. Prawn mayonnaise baguette which was a soft brown roll with plenty of prawns in mayonnaise. However I had the feeling they had been in the mayonnaise for quite a while. I couldn't finish it. It did spoil an otherwise lovely cycle ride. Will not be back.

The cafe indoors is outdated and a has an usual "old peoples' home" smell to it. I asked for a fizzy water which was brought out still in the bottle without a glass. I had to ask for a glass to which the young waitress reluctantly brought. My son wasn't given one at all. I ordered a baguette with coronation... More

the weather was unusually bright for the time of the year so we decided to sit outside. It took a while to realise that we had to go inside to order where the staff were very friendly. I ordered a pot of decaf tea as well as earl grey and was pleased they had this choice. Did not charge for... More
