Great food, really good, all happy with their meals. Dog friendly in the bar area. The pub itself exudes history, the location is stunning, looking fwd to summer and meals on the pontoon. The staff are a credit, faultless really. Well worth a visit, get there early if you have a dog and want to eat as the bar fills... More

Lovely location/pub/restaurant... my seared scallops starter was amazing. Sadly my bouillabaise main course (£18) was a huge disappointment. Lots of very rich, thick tomato & fennel sauce and pieces of white fish. When I complained that there wasn't a single morsel of shellfish in the dish, I was told it had crab in it, but not in the shell, so... More

Set on the banks of an inlet, allows sitting out on a pontoon in summer. Inside is cosy and all one would expect of a historic pub. We decided on a light lunch of sandwiches. Ha ha how wrong were we. I have never seen so much fresh crab in door steps of granary bread. Delicious!! Dog and child friendly... More

Couldn't have wished for a better experience. Visited on the recommendation of the concierge at the Idle Rocks. Fabulous position right on the waters edge and the most delicious food - Mackerel salad for myself and ploughmans for the husband. Would go back to the area in a heartbeat just to visit this gem again. Can't recommend enough.

Stunning views and great food sat outside in February before eating inside, really great place. Parking limited due to location and how busy this place gets but well worth waiting! Highly recommended all round.

Beautiful spot, not the best place to park in those busy summer months, but prefect for this time of year. On a day trip popped in for lunch and a drink, nice friendly welcome and efficient service. Good food, always of a high quality and feeling the warmth of the log fire, made it a pleasant experience. Don't miss this... More

It is difficult to decide which is better - the setting or the food! Beautifully secluded spot on River Fal. Exudes a peaceful ambience. Excellent cuisine from locally sourced food. Great beer - St. Austell "Proper Job" a highlight. Pleasant staff. Well worth finding - but book in advance.
