On the plus side the pub welcomes both children and dogs of which we had both. The service was also good and friendly. My main problem was the home made steak pie which wasn't very good at all. Puff pastry like plonked on the top. Somehow there was sharp plastic in it, probably from the microwave packet. I took those... More
A few days break in Looe and evening dining out a must. Plenty of places within a short distance in the main street, but the reasonably priced menu on display drew us in. Not disappointed. Quite dark inside, but with plenty of different seating areas to suit a variety of needs. Friendly bar staff, really tasty food, all in all... More
Great local pub great music and food was good pub grub. Lively atmosphere, and loved the golden retriever who was there twice. Very well behaved dog.
The Ship Inn is a big pub on Fore Street in the centre of Looe. Inside it’s spacious with plenty of seating in different areas, some tables and chairs some leather sofas so you don’t feel crowded and it’s comfortable warm. We decided to eat here after two disappointing nights at other places and I wish we’d found this place... More
We decided to sit in for lunch due to the weather and the pub sign said families welcome. Nicely spread out tables with plenty of space, nice and easy for pushchair access. All four of us ordered the 8oz Steak burger and chips. Food took a while to come out but was piping hot and you could see everything was... More
Me and my wife visited the ship inn whilst on a weekend break in looe. Fantastic Ayle and a steak to die for. Well rested and perfectly cooked sirloin. Wife's lasagne was fresh and home made. Very reasonable priced. Will definitely be back soon
I ordered a 6oz rump steak well done. When it arrived it was the toughest, most tasteless piece of meat I have ever been served. You laterally could have soled a boot with it that would have lasted 1000 miles. The chips were soggy and Luke warm. The onion rings, all 3 of them were nice. I did NOT complain as I... More
Walked in to noisy music blasting out of the speakers - it seemed to really spoil the ambience - the other customers - many middle aged - had to shout to be heard. The music playing was for a much younger audience so it must have all sounded quite alien. Only had one drink and left.
