Friendly little pub by the sea, nice family room to the rear. Main bar might be too rough for some. Food is good and plentiful. Bar staff helpful and attentive.

this is a spit and sawdust pub with great food great entertainment and everything about this place is great great great. It is right on the beach so come off the beach have a pint and a meal. Cant go wrong. Even can take the dog, although dogs are not allowed on the beach.

We visit the mermaid every year when we go to visit my brother. The location is ideal, foods a little more expensive but always served quickly and tastes delicious. The rattler cider on draft is worth a try . My children love that they can play on the beach and play in the sea.

Went the The Mermaid on Sunday with family that live in Newquay. Carver was really good quality with plenty of choice, all well cooked. Some of the family had other meals and they were also good, large portions! Children were well catered for as well. Would recommend to everyone.

Went for lunch and dinner during our trip. Lunch was the best, right on the beach so beautiful surrounding on a sunny day. All our meals were excellent and the chips were particularly good. Also returned one night when half of the place is closed off and the fire is lit, so very cosy, specials available and the food was... More

Great after a walk on the beach for a hot chocolate, coffe or beer. Also serve a good menu. The food was plentiful and of a good quality for the price. Staff helpful

Called in our holiday 3 times, the walk over from Fistral along the beaches... fabulous... Sunday carvery on New Years Day was the standard price and it's excellent value for money and really tasty food. Superb location directly on the beach and doggie friendly too. Will keep coming back and would recommend.

We are local and know the Mermaid well but this was the first time for the Sunday carvery. Good choice of food and the meat was lovely. All of the veg except the cauliflower cheese was almost cold. Even the gravy was not hot enough so the meal was not enjoyable. I can honestly say that the roast potatoes were... More
