Good coffee in a wonderful old building (oldest in Penzance apparently). Friendly owners too who made us very welcome

Nice friendly staff with fresh food and delightful (although pricey) crab sandwiches. Artisan bread would have rounded off the experience as the sandwich did end up quite soggy. It tasted fabulous though! Tea had toy town green cups from kindergarten and the smallest metal teapot you could find but it was hot with decent strength (difficult with a pot that... More

Incredibly friendly staff and a homely atmosphere. The food was superb, the crab sandwich I had was particularly special. And given that it is a small tea room the choice is superb. And then there is the cake! Wowee! Dog friendly. Child friendly.

We often go to the Jubilee Pool for a swim. When we do we always buy coffees and home made cakes from Adele at the Barbican. We also love their fresh sandwiches which are much cheaper and more tasty than the ones we have been offered at the Poolside cafe. Save your money and try the Barbican Coffee shop!

We visited Barbican back in May for cream tea and loved it! The scones were marvellous just as the jam and clotted cream. The staff were lovely, and I really liked the place, very cozy :) We didn't know that they only accept cash so the guys had to go cashpoint hunting but luckily there was one a few minutes... More

Popped in for lunch - cheese & pickle sandwich, juice and a cup of tea. Can see where some of the other comments about politeness of the owner are coming from. Pricing also seems a bit strange - £1:25 for take away cup of tea, £2:10 to drink in...!! Could be so much better with a little bit thought and... More

On a recent trip to Cornwall my boyfriend and I came across this little gem! Very quaint little coffee shop off the beaten track! We decided on 2 blts and 2 cream teas. The blt sandwiches were lovely and came with some lovely salad and the scones came out still warm which really made a difference! The scones were light... More

Had my first cream tea in Cornwall at Barbican Cafe. Delicious, with a large scone and more than enough jam and clotted cream. We arrived just before closing time at 16:20 and scones still tasted fresh! Quaint and homely decor.

We went in thinking the place looked quaint and lovely. Treated nicely and seated. Unfortunately after telling my son off (he moved a candle stick) The place revealed its true colours. Over priced food and the cake was shocking. We had the flapjack, lemon drizzle, coffee and a slice of chocolate between the 6 of us. As a food teacher... More
