One of my best friends ate here on New Years Day and raved about it so we booked it for Sunday roast with a group of friends. We had a fantastic waitress who was friendly and efficient. We ordered 4 Roast Beef's and 1 Vegetarian option - it all came out piping hot and looked amazing! We had rare roast... More

For a small village pub to maintain such a good standard after a change of ownership is unusual, but not here. Visited a year ago and was suitably impressed and was equally impressed on return visit and surprised to find out a change of ownership/stewardship had occurred. Beers OK good selection of wines, not too expensive, but it is the... More

After reading a few hit and miss reviews over the winter I was pretty confident the Halestown would be working hard to impress. I was not wrong. Sunday lunch today was fantastic. Having phoned to book we were seated, with our springer, by the fire in the bar. Not a bad place to be on a wild and windy day!... More

Booking after reading the great reviews, I was under pressure from my family for it to exceed our usual haunt in St Ives. It didnt disappoint! Our respective roast dinners were fresh, well cooked and above all, flavoursome. The joy continued with puddings and we couldn't fault the service.

We have eaten here several times the last being very early Jan 2017. The food is always very good, on our last visit we had 2 vegatarians and picked this restaurant as they have a good choice of vegatarian meals which was appreciated. A traditional pub atmosphere, dogs welcome in most areas, as are muddy boots. Probably worth booking in... More

Visited midweek, starters were out of this world delicious (fennel tacos, wow, smoked Mack pate delightful, feta filo cigars scrummy). Chef really knows favours, waitress incredibly friendly, pub was warm and cosy. Mains also lovely...We will be back!

I am writing this review in the hope that when we do go back there will have been a huge improvement in both service and standards. In however many years of visiting here and many fantastic memories it was very disappointing to leave on Sunday with such a poor experience. From booking it took three attempts to get someone to... Been here a few times for lunches whilst on an annual winter visit to St Ives but made it a priority to come here for a dinner, this was our first evening visit. You could easily drive past this place without giving it a second glance but that would be a mistake. It has been sympathetically restored inside and has... More

On the main road out of St Ives - we walked from main St Ives 'town' and it took less than 30 minutes, but had a good pace, uphill all the way there, and on a main road with no pavement in places so perhaps not best recommended in hindsight! Bus stop right opposite. We had Sunday lunch and it... More

Having visited today i was saddened to find no children's menu and having to pay £16 for hake which he left, My Mum and Dad returned there beef as it was uncooked (raw), I love medium rare steak, this was a Sunday lunch and Raw (like liver). I find this not a family pub and quite unfriendly . Been coming... More
