Food was good without being spectacular. Friendly staff but a bit too many people crammed in and service a bit too quick as in a rush to get the next sitting in. Prices about what you would expect.

I rely on Cote for a fantastic ribeye steak and glass(es) of house red wine. Great value and never disappoints. Recommended highly.

I visited in the evening with my parents and all of us enjoyed food and the wine. The staff were very friendly both when we arrived and throughout the evening and happily agreed to let my slightly fussy parents sit next to the window (It did have a good view of the cathedral though to be fair to them). It... More

We have been several times to Cote Brasserie in Exeter and it remains our favourite local restaurant. The staff are always welcoming and cheerful. The decor and ambience feels like an authentic French Brasserie and the food is consistently excellent. Today's lunchtime specials included Mushroom Feuillette, Steak and Frites and to cap it all Crepes Suzette with Grand Marnier. All... More

This is by far my favourite restaurant in Exeter. Fabulous staff, amazing coffee and always a stunning menu to offer customers. The place gives a relaxed and romantic atmosphere in the night time, which is when I like going there most. They also offer lovely outdoor seating and upstairs seating with a glorious view of Exeter's Cathedral. 1000% recommend!

Came here for my birthday with family and friends (6 of us in total) and we saw that if we ordered before 7pm you can get a 3 course set meal for below £15 each. We did this and we were surprised with how much choice you get! I went for mussels to start which were delicious and were served... More

I have lived in France for 10 years but am from Exeter so was excited! As usual in UK restaurants , especially chains,( Cafe Rouge, ASK,...), the emphasis is always on the design and atmosphere and not on the food. Both the former were lovely at Cote. But when the food and wine came, it was very disappointing. Starters were... More

Lovely location in the Cathedral Quarter. Popped in at 5pm on Valentines Day with my husband and son. Staff organised a table for 3 (at this point most tables were arranged for couples). The service was excellent, quick and efficient. We ordered from the 3 course menu which was good value and the food was fantastic and very tasty. Loved... More

Another super lunch at Cote, good service, good food, and the upstairs dining room is delightful - so light and with beautiful view of the cathedral. Of course it is a chain, but such a good chain, I am never disappointed with a meal here.

Description
Our inspiration for the food and design of Cote is a modern interpretation of the many famous bistros of Paris. Inspired by new trends, we are dedicated to serving authentic classic brasserie dishes with a modern twist, using high quality produce at great prices. On the menu, guests will always find brasserie favourites on our a la carte menu such as steak frites, moules marinieres, corn-fed chicken from rural Brittany and tuna Nicoise, for dessert, Cote's creme caramel and creme brulee are much-loved house specialities.
Seasonality and Cote's commitment to sourcing high-quality ingredients results in a monthly changing specials menu, ensuring there is always something new to delight regular guests and gastronomes alike, as well as the excellent value set menu. Open early every day for breakfast, through to lunch and dinner; Cote's atmosphere is informal and friendly.
