Called in for drinks on way home locally. Cost of nearly 10 pounds for two gin and tonics bet they did not charge group of regulars high prices maybe it was just a mistake but we will not be going again.....

Used to love this place.. Visited last night with friends. Smaller portions.. Quality poor.. Uncaring staff attitude.. Ice cream outrageously over priced and mini portion. Overall disappointing.

The food was good as always especially the mussels. I had the scallops with the black pudding which was nice but could have done with a pea puree or similar as the richness of the black pudding over shadowed the scallops. But having said this the food and service were very good.

Been maybe 6 or 7 times. Had the fisherman's gumbo each time. Superb. Gets busy. Tricky parking. Extensive fish menu. Low beams. Good tables at the back.

Paused in Cockwood; adjacent to harbour(!) and GWR main line. We needed a decent snack before going back to Plymouth. We got it! Shared a West Country err.. Ploughmans. 3 different local cheeses (Devon blue, a brie and a smoked cheddar) and slices of beautiful ham; with home-made coleslaw, a small dressed salad, pickled onions and a warmed white softcrust... I have been here about 5 times now. It's probably a 45 minute drive from Paignton where my Mum lives, but definitely worth the effort. Funnily enough, the 2 of us came for a pre Christmas meal a couple of years ago. I looked at their Christmas menu this year which is excellent value for money. It's £19.95 for 3... More

Friday lunchtime in mid-November. A lovely fire in the restaurant and such a great, out-of-the way location on a tiny harbour, enclosed by Brunel's railway embankment running south from Exeter down to Dawlish. Little boats in the harbour were lifted by the sand by the incoming tide. We were first in the restaurant but by 1pm all the tables were... More

Great food, beer and service in a lovely atmosphere - we were lucky to be in a very cosy snug with an open fire, but the the whole place is very well looked after and the staff are friendly and attentive. Highly recommended!

Thank Helen W
