While away in Devon we called into the Beer Engine for a lunchtime meal. Very friendly landlord, with a mix of locals (always nice to see) and visitors. The Beer was excellent and made me wish I was staying nearby so I could try the others, then I found out you can buy it in various quantities to take away!... More

We went here on recommendation from friends and also good reviews. It certainly lived up to these. Great size portions and very tasty. Plenty of choice and very good value for money. You will not be disappointed.

To my mind, this is deserving of a better name than 'pub grub'. 4 of us were served with meals of equally good quality. The food was very well presented and the portions were more than sufficient. The host is extremely friendly and efficient. The ambience is very pleasing. What more could you want?

Well worth a trip. Meals here are hearty and the portions huge. A wide range of locally made beers available. Book in advance as it can get busy, particularly on a Saturday night.

Such a lovely and welcoming pub serving delicious meals. The portions are big. We had a wonderful evening and were only sorry we didn't have room for pudding. Just wonderful. Can't wait to return for my birthday next month.

Thank Emma H
