Visited here last night as a group of 6 and had a great evening. The food was delicious and the chef came to speak to us at the end of the evening with complimentary drinks. Will recommend this place for sure and we will be back very soon

Love my Chinese food but this is where I chose to go for those extra special days. The food is just superb, always well presented, good sized portions and as tasty as anything I have eaten. It may be a touch dearer than competitors but the food more than makes up for it. Good selection of drinks as well. Linked... More

There’s a vertical strip of restaurants on Southside Street, all apparently owned by the same person. One is Japanese, one is a noodle bar and the other is Hakka, a smart Chinese place. Feast on freshly steamed pork dim sum with dipping sauces and prawn stir fry (see photo). Amazingly, no-one else was in that night (it was raining) but... More

I live in Hong Kong and when I return to the westcountry crave authentic food. This restaurant has outstanding food, service, and decor. It is totally 5 star. It is also very reasonably priced. Totally authentic in all ways

The restaurant was very popular. The food,Cantonese/ Chinese. There was a good selection making it difficult to make a choice. The food was very good, freshly cooked ample portions. The only problem was staffing. Just 2 girls serving all the tables. We booked for 8.0pm food started arriving at 9.0pm

We went to our usual Chinese to find it closed for a few days. But what a great find Hakka turned out to be! The waitress was most helpful and explained the tea ritual together with heat of accompanying sauces provided. I had chicken with mango with noodles and bean shoot. The flavours were fresh and crisp and the mango... More

We made an impromptu visit to Plymouth Barbican and as a restaurant we had visited before was full we found Hakka, which would now be our first choice. We only ordered main courses - all three were very nice indeed. Coupled with a lovely environment and quick and friendly service, we are looking forward to going again! I ought to... More

The selection of dim sum could be much much more, we couldn't get a nice seafood variety and wished there were more seafood dim sum. The price was also prohibitive compared to its competition.

We tend to go to Hakka as a family, usually as a special occasion. The experience is always great with real authentic food. We've never had a bad dish from here! & Staff are all very friendly and attentive. We were sat at a table with a rotating platform which was a great way of easily sharing food between the... More

Hakka food is consistently good, most especially the Dim Sum. The only slight reservation we have about coming here is that the service on some nights or times of night can be sluggish, either because of understaffing or because preference seems sometimes to be given to big groups or favoured regulars. We came back because we were reminded of the... More
