I wanted to really love this restaurant because it sounded fabulous on its website and Facebook page. Overall, it's clear the food is good, fresh and healthy. It's just not terribly interesting or memorable. Spicy food wasn't spicy enough, portions a little meagre for some...More

Well located and a nice atmosphere. Some interesting items on the menu, but I found the food a little bland. Everything just seemed a little under seasoned, or lacking flavour? Friendly staff, however

A lovely friendly welcome. We had booked a table as advised. We were seated and drinks order taken. We ordered our mains and had a bowl of olives while we waited. My wife had a teriyaki and I had a curry. Both dishes were delicious....More

There are lots of tempting things to try in this restaurant as finding somewhere that caters for vegans is very rare. We ordered Teriyaki Peanut Tofu with Stir Fried Veggies with Brown basmati rice & Summer Rolls. It looked delicious and tasted amazing except that...More

I visited here with family in mid July. The staff were very friendly and service quick. My food was ok, but not amazing. However, the family loved their food, especially the desserts. My food was bland and not overly hot. I wouldn't rush back.

Word of mouth is just as important as TripAdvisor and Amala gets plenty of recommendations. Amala is one of the few veggie / vegan restaurants where most meat eaters won't feel short changed by the menu options. It's all lovely food (and not just trendy...More

Amala were great at helping cater for my party of 15 including vegans/vegetarians. I collected the food and served it next day, the raw chocolate tart was a massive favourite and any food that was left was quickly taken home by our family. The meze...More

This place is the best vegan restaurant I've been to. The food is just so delicious. I'm vegan and the friend I took is a meat eater, but he loved the food! Subsequent to this, he has decided to eat less meat because this meal...More

We returned to Amala (previously alled Zucchinis) and were equally impressed as at our last visit. The food was delicious (I had peanut tofu teriaki and my wife had a burger with all the trimmings). The service was very friendly and the food was ready...More

Description
Established as Zoukinis in 2008 as a vegetarian restaurant, this gem has recently undergone a major facelift and is now called amala. (2016) Amala is now a purely vegan restaurant offering a conscious eating experience with what some would call 'vegan gourmet cuisine' with delicate and robust flavour and texture combinations - all purely plant-based. Whatever it may be, we are committed to offering real food, prepared simply and with love, using organic and local ingredients where possible and practical. Many of our 5 star review mention the friendliness of the staff, the soothing and calming atmosphere (even when we're busy which is more and more!) of the environment and of course - many takes pictures and comment on the delicious food! Most important to us is how YOU FEEL at the end of the MEAL (or experience as we like to call it). That is our focus and our strive. Daniel & the team at amala
