Took my partner for a cream tea. Luckily they provide doggy bags, as ample food and we didn't manage it in one sitting. Their scones are still the best I have ever had and I have tried a few!

Homemade Scones, jam, clotted cream all washed down with a perfect pot of Earl Grey on a cold winter weekend afternoon. All absolutely delicious and served by friendly staff. There was even small trivia cards on the table to have some fun with whilst soaking up this quaint little tea rooms atmosphere. Alfriston itself was also charming to walk around... More

Had a lovely smoked salmon sandwich followed by cream tea and delicious home made lemon drizzle cake. Coffee and pots of tea also lovely. Very pleasant staff and young waitress. Great (and unusual) 60's music much to my choice being quietly played Loved it all, so well done to the owners. Friends also advised they do a great full English... More

Lovely warm welcome even for our dog. The drinks and cakes were excellent - all homemade and simply delicious. Atmosphere was lovely too. Our only negative was service was very slow, the food took a long time to come after our drinks had been served, however standard was so good it was worth waiting for! We were told a hot... More

We visited here with friends and our three children (aged 2,7 & 7) while camping locally. We stopped for the obligatory tea and cake and was not disappointed. The tea came in gorgeous little tea pots with their own unique tea cosy and was lovely and much needed. Choosing which cake to have was the most difficult part! The staff... More

i visited Alfriston in July 2016 and had the pleasure of eating at the Chestnut Tea Room. The food was absolutely delicious and more competitive than other similar establishments in the village. I had the baked potato which was wonderful as it was crisp which is rare in these days of micro waved food while my other friends had the... More

Came hear with a friend on perhaps the hottest day of the year and it was wonderful. The music 1960,s playing in the back ground, sipping tea from bone china whilst tucking into a lovely scone with clotted cream and jam. It was truly delightful.
