Have eaten in here several times, usually before I go to the theatre. Never had a bad meal in here. The staff are efficient if not a little bit robotic, in saying that they do their job well. The food is excellent. I had chicken enchilada and it was so tasty. Really nice meal. We were a group of three... More

Visited El Mexicano before a trip to the theatre next door, very pretty restaurant and the waitress was lovely. We mentioned the theatre and once we had showed our tickets were given a free glass of prosecco - very nice touch! We ordered off the tapas set menu, 3 dishes for £10.50 or something close to that and you wouldn't... More

Snug little restaurant. Took a while for anyone to notice we were waiting to be seated, so we almost left. Glad we didn't. We ate off the lunch deal menu, so value at less than £10 each including a drink was excellent. I had the calimari which was perfectly cooked. The other half had the chicken burrito which was huge... In a bit of a rush, cutting it fine before a matinee performance at Theatre Royal next door. Waitress could not have been more helpful, understanding time limitations we ordered 2 X tapas each plus 1 glass of wine each at an all inclusive price of £9.95 per person. Portions were huge, Gambas Aioli, Albondigas, Mushrooms in Garlic finally Chorizo,... More

A thoroughly enjoyable meal at this restaurant. The Tapas menu was great and there was good variety. Cocktails were well done and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The chef even came out to see how our meal was! Highly recommend for date nights, meals with friends or just a quick bite.

We arrived there and were quickly seated by a very kind waiter. He took our order and it arrived very quickly. The nachos were one of the best I have ever had in my life. For my main course I had a pulled pork burrito which was out of this world and would highly recommend it. The food was quick... More

We are regular visitors to the Theatre Royal, but for the first time we chanced upon this little gem of a tapas restaurant - absolutely perfect for a pre-theatre meal and all at a great tapas special price. Food was delicious, the service top notch and the whole experience was perfect. This will now be our regular pre-theatre venue.

Dropped in here before a gig at the Dome. Hadn't booked but they found us a table on a busy Saturday evening. We had the Nachos to share then a Pulled Pork Burrito and vegetarian Fajitas. All very good, tasty and hot. Reasonably priced too.

Description
El Mexicano sits in the heart of Brighton's theatre district and prides itself on being the only authentic Mexican restaurant in the area. Buzzy atmosphere is fueled by vibrant Latin vibes, music, cocktails and food. Authentic Mexican cuisine and Spanish tapas is the order of the day, including Enchiladas, mole, sea-food paellas and fajitas. After your meal, visit Valentino, the art deco style bar upstairs, which is licensed until 2am.
