The food, vibe, drinks, staff and tunes mark The Pond out as an establishment fuelled by passion, commitment, love and hard work! I ate here with friends one Saturday evening, and was so impressed, that I returned for lunch the next day. The flavours and...More

We visited at lunchtime. We had the vegan tofu bao buns (tofu, hoi sin, spring onion, cucumber, crushed peanuts), the house chips (more about those in a bit) and cauli tempura. The chips - home cooked and from proper spuds - not frozen chips, came...More

Came to the pond with a friend back in May during the great escape festival. My friend had raved about the food so I had high expectations and it's safe to say these were exceeded! The food really was delicious and such great value. The...More

This venue is fantastic since the refurb. The staff are really friendly, they have a great selection of ales, definitely try their own ale Pondwater, and the food is all Bao buns which are delicious, especially the brisket one. Definitely worth a visit.

They've done a nice job renovating this place turning it from a traditional pub into something a bit more up to date. Plenty of traditional and more unusual beers on offer. Didn't try the food, but diners nearby were complimentary. No under 18s allowed after...More

Went here for a lovely lunch, exceptional baos' of differing varieties. Lovely beer selection. Excellent location in the North Laines and near the train station.

Lovely food, charming staff. Good selection of beers and wines. If you go after 1.45 it's not so packed and there is still service with smile and freshly cooked food.

Found this pub by chance as it was near our hotel. Lots of interesting beers including Motueka which is a local beer on tap and a very interesting crowd of people (if you like people-watching). Friendly, helpful staff. They do food too including free range...More

Wonderful pub with a friendly atmosphere and a wide selection of famous beers. The interior of the pub is actually quite beautiful. I enjoyed it as much as the beer. Well, almost!

I did like this place mainly for the beer selection. However £8 a pint is a bit harsh. My second beer was only £6 from a can. Anyway it's a nice environment. The bao was tasty but the bun itself was not done well.

Welcome to The Pond, it’s time to get your feathers wet. We’re an independent pub in Brighton's North Laine serving up delicious beer from all over the planet, including our very own Pondwater Pale Ale, and every month we'll feature one of our favourite breweries by buying in a big ol' pallet of their beers. Street Diner curate the kitchen, showcasing some of the finest culinary talent Brighton has to offer with the awesome Baby Bao doing their thing on the regular. We're open from midday to midnight seven days a week so pop in for a pint and kick back in our cozy boozer that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
