I am reviewing this hotel once again because it just does not seem to 'get it'. After some staff changes on reception there was a risk that the best part of the hotel would go downhill but I am pleased to say that Reception remains warm, friendly and helpful. It is the best department the hotel has. Whoever is running... More

The Cote Du Pork special is £55 between two including a bottle of Merlot wine and it made for a really special meal. You have to be hungry and you have to love lots of meat (along with your mini roasties and kale) but this was great grub. The service was a bit patchy - we are still waiting for... More

Great meal and worth every penny. They are also doing g a Sunday lunch offer that looked fabulous and we will be trying soon hopefully. Loved the captain's quotes on the walls - you have to go to see them. 😀😀

Visited on Easter Sunday for Sunday lunch. Sunday lunch here is a fixed price menu and excellent value. The lunch comprised of four courses and all were excellent with the "Market Table" (a choice fresh seafood, charcuterie and breads), being outstanding. Unsurprisingly, the restaurant was exceptionally busy, but service was excellent. Excellent choice of wines. I would recommend this hightly.

this was meant to be a celebration family breakfast. The food arrived and it was immediately obvious that this was going to be a bad experience. The food was poor, the service was worse, the staff had no concept of even a basic ethic to ensure the customer enjoyed their time spent there, we did not. They could not even... More

We dined at the recently refurbished restaurant on Easter Saturday and was pleasantly surprised by some of the improvements. The restaurant has had a makeover since last summer and no longer has the ubiquitous HDV Bistro look about it. The food was pretty good too. The Herdwick Lamb dish was good and portions for main courses generous. My wife had... More

Our group of 12 including kids took advantage of the 4 course Sunday lunch following the Brighton Marathon and were not disappointed. The buffet table is full of variety for adults and kids, just remember to leave room for the following two courses! Service was excellent too. Will definitely be going back.

Description
The Hotel du Vin Bistro in Brighton is just off the seafront and five minutes from the madly inspiring shops in The Lanes, but who would want to leave? Set in a collection of gothic and Tudor revival buildings built by, so apt, a wine merchant, the hotel has the trademark stylish, witty, super comfortable dcor that has won the group so many awards. The restaurant is elegant and relaxed and usually full, offering a menu rooted in classic European cuisine with a contemporary edge. The simple classics change seasonally, augmented by head chef Rob Carrs own creations each day. The extensive, eclectic wine list is central to the hotel, with a great number of choices by the glass.
