Visited here with some friends. A great atmosphere as soon as we walked in. We sat on a table near the lovely open fire, a great feature! We decided to eat here, I had a bread board, which was amazing, and very well priced! We didn't want to leave. A great little place, with many different ages! Will be returning.

Visited this lovely pub when the weather turned a little cool. Was very happily surprised at the interior. In the middle of the pub was a lovely open fire. Something very different but extremely inviting. It would have been easy to stay there all day, drinking and chatting with our friends was a delightful experience

Visited for dinner and to experience the beer. We especially liked Old Town Tom with its hint of ginger. My partner had very good fish and chips. I had whitebait, which was fine, although not as crispy as I would have liked. The chips are amazing! We were quite full so shared a pear tarte tatin and that was melt... More

A very friendly pub which features an open log fire for those chilly days. Dogs are welcome, which is a godsend. The food is freshly cooked and beautifully presented, using local produce. It's further up the High street but is well worth the walk. The food is excellent quality and the taste stays in the memory. I cannot fault the... More

We went for Sunday lunch and it was like a pub from a tourist film - full to the brim with atmosphere, a cosy central fire and delicious food. And full of locals who should know a good thing when they see it.
