First time at the Chestnut Tree, a very friendly welcome and good service. The food was excellent, the scones were the best we have ever tasted. Attentive service throughout and extra drinks were supplied. There was so much food that what remained was boxed up for us to take away.

Visited The Chestnut Tree with hopes of a hot meal at half 4 on a Saturday afternoon, unfortunately we were told the kitchen had already closed even though they were still open for another hour. We opted for a cream tea and a plain tea. It may be my personal preference, but I found the scones very spongy and rather... More

Nice tearoom environment. Very busy. Tea was good, but cakes a little dry in my estimation. A bit expensive for what we had. Notice on door to say that pushchairs had to be collapsed because of lack of room.

Enjoyed a cup of hot chocolate. Friendly service and reasonable price. Not too busy. My husband had a mocha which was flavoursome and hot.

We went in for a coffee and a teacake late on in the afternoon. Coffee was ok, but that depends on how you like your coffee. Teacake very nice, hot with plenty of butter. Very clean. Staff were very friendly.

We had cream tea and a tuna sandwich. The tea was pretty good but my son said the sandwich was just awful. This place trades on its location to some extent.

While on a Cotswolds Tour with Sixty Sixty Coaches, Merthyr Tydfil, we stopped in Burton on the Water late afternoon. The Chestnut Tree looked nice, so we decided to try it & we were very glad we did. My friend had Chocolate Fudge Cake, which she said was lovely. Very rich, but not too sickly sweet and even though she... More

While visiting Bourton on the water, which in itself is beautiful and should not be missed when travelling around England. My wife and I stopped off at the Chestnut Tree for a light lunch. We made our order, the drinks were served but the food order was mucked up so we had to wait a while longer but the staff... More

Nice big fresh double scone clotted cream tea! (Mind the big spilly tea pots!) The double chocolate fudge cake was also amazing and a nice big slice to boot.
