This was one of the best Sunday roasts I've ever had. My husband ordered beef and I had the pork. Fantastic and tender. Great root vegetables, peas and mash. Just what I wanted. My husband felt the same way. Surprised there were not more people eating but it was a little later in the afternoon. Hope they do well. People... More

The new landlords have settled in very quickly and within weeks have managed to turn the pub back into the friendly, welcoming and warm place that it used to be (even with a huge set back when it was burgled). We were lucky enough to try the food before the kitchen opened to the public and it was fantastic; the... More

All lovely and fresh food and a warm welcome off the landlady. Clean and tidy and old style charm. A treat to find on a wet and windy spring day ☺

I'm a regular at this pub. The last 3 or 4 reviews can be ignored, because the present landlady only took over a month or so ago (in February 2016), and inherited a pub which had been allowed to drift dingily downhill by two sets of prior landlords. I know for a fact that she has worked mightily to restore... More

Upon arrival around 20.15pm were told the quiz was starting in 15 minutes but maybe a meal could be sorted out.!!! Went straight through to the restaurant part of the pub... More

Food was average in choice, taste & price. Nothing exciting but nothing disappointing either. Everything comes with rice or chips, peas or salad. Toilets, gardens, play area could really benefit from cleaning & tidying. Tables & carpets abit sticky.

The food here is really good pub food. There are excellent beers and ciders on draft. We enjoyed participating in the weekly pub quiz event during the time we were there, and were made to feel very welcome. This pub has a pool table and a jukebox, as well as an attractive outdoor eating and drinking area. I look forward... More
