Bored with all the mediocre pub offerings locally, decided to try this and it was the right choice. Good value for money, very friendly and lovely food. An extra veggie option on the menu would be the only thing I would change. Looking forward to trying the bar upstairs.

I've often walked past and wondered what it's like and finally I went in with a friend! It was a Saturday night and although we didn't book, the owner made us welcome upstairs in their new Bar and Tapas while we waited for a table. The owner was friendly and offered us drinks. I especially like the decor of the... More

We last visited JRool under its previous ownership and while we liked it, we decided to explore further afield and never got back. After repeated disappointment at Ciao Eatalia we decided to revisit JRool and what a good decision that was. You get a bowl of olives before anything happens and the drinks were reasonably priced and good quality. I... More

Lovely small restaurant. Friendly service, good food. Thoroughly recommended. It was full but we came back and waited. It was well worth it!

I've taken my girlfriend here twice on dates and have to say that though the menu is small the food is among the most delicately cooked and delicious I have tasted. I would fully recommend dining here with a plus-one or even on your own just to taste the food. Wine menu is also very adequate.

A real find in the centre of Stroud!. Excellent food and wine served with enthusiasm by the proprietor and his small staff. The restaurant is very small (ground floor) with a wine bar on the first floor. We dined as a party of 16 - pre-booked - which took uop 80% of the space! Service was a little slow -... More

Visited with a large group of friends. The menu was really varied and couldn't resist all three courses. They really looked after our large group and the food was fantastic. I chose the lamb with dauphinois potatoes for mains, which was delicious and the lamb was melt in your mouth. The staff were really helpful and ensured we all had... More

A true gem, sure to rise as a much better known star in Stroud's eating scene! Nearby the Market, Steve & Sue have a wonderful restaurant with lovely Wine Bar above. We started in the Wine Bar relaxing with a great red suggested by Steve. When our dinner was about ready, we headed downstairs to the dining room. My wife... More
