This place has atmosphere up the wazoo. It also serves very good salad and coffee. Ordered at the bar and then relaxed. Couldn't get in for dinner so book ahead. Just round corner from Jane Austen's hose and a wonderful bookstore. Best cappuccino in Winchester.

I have stayed here a few times now and I am never disappointed. The staff are very welcoming and can't do enough to please. How could you not love a pub that excepts dogs but not children!

We ordered a crayfish and avocado sandwich which came without a trace of avocado in it. My brother went to the bar to mention this at which point the barman told him he was wrong, the sandwich wasn't supposed to have avocado and that he...More

Kingsgate Street. From the pub, on the road travelling away from the city towards Winchester College, you can park there free for a limited time. One hour free about 500 yards away, 2 hours free from about half a mile away... More
