Wandered into the cafe and ordered the hummous plate, coffee and a slice of the apple pie with clotted cream. Excellent food and ambience.

Small but cosy setting, not ideal for larger groups. Had the vege chili, was really good and then the cake platter was amazing! Good coffee too, a highlight in Ambleside

Super food, lovely staff, and a great atmosphere. Our favourite café in Ambleside which we'd like to keep secret, but it's too good not to share!

We keep coming year on year and the main reason is there awesome veg chilli. Don't get me wrong everything else they have on does look really good but you just have to have the chilli (followed by cake of course). A great healthy(ish depending on cake consumption) meal for either an early dinner like us or lunch.

Stopped here for lunch and a cup of tea. We had toasted sandwiches, which were made with thick fresh bread and varied and interesting selection of fillings served with a lovely selection of homemade salads. The tasting board of cakes looked amazing, unfortunately we did not try, but will next time.

My husband and I stumbled upon this cafe during a trip to Ambleside back in the summer. The cafe is in a beautiful location which very much adds to the lovely, relaxing atmosphere. The fresh salads and cakes were absolutely delicious. We will definitely return during our next trip to the Lake District!

We visited this wonderful little gem for lunch and it was a great choice. Quiche with leek, potato & cheddar and accompanying salad was fab and very filling. Toasted home-made teacake also lovely. Ginger & lemon cake also very nice. Friendly staff and a nice homely, relaxing ambience. Would highly recommend.

We called in first for a coffee (excellent) then went back later for lunch. Colonel Waffle had a cheese scone, one of the best he's ever had and I had the broccoli quiche and salad. They give you a selection of salads and they were all tasty. It's a really nice little place and they make you feel really welcome... More

Lovely little cafe in a fabulous location. Stopped off for afternoon T for 2 but as a 'dried fruit hater' the owner (who was lovely) suggested a cake tasting platter which was lovely, washed down with a pot of 2 for 2 for £10, great value.
