After reading your reviews we gave it a try and were made very welcome by the staff ordered a meal and was surprised at the speed of the cooking, all well done and very hot. Only one complaint that it was very drab and seemed to need a good paint up , but it was a pub first and last.

Called for a Saturday lunch and pleased to say we were not disappointed. We had heard mixed reviews about this this place but our experience was very good. Tomato soup was homemade and delicious. My husband had the prawn starter which he said was very good. Both had the Chilli burgers which again were very good. Will defo call again

This is not the first time we have eaten here and we have never been disappointed. We had steak pie and gammon, they were both lovely. Big portions so make sure you're hungry. Good staff, good beer and wine.

Called in whilst visiting the area on a Saturday night. Saw the menu and decided to stay for a meal but it was fully booked. However the friendly and helpful barmaid said she would try and get a table for us if we were prepared to wait. As there was such a good selection of real ales that wasn't a... More

Saturday lunch time meal, great food and beer. Friendly local pub and very reasonably priced. We choose to eat here as it allows dogs in the front bar. Recommended and we will definitely eat here again.

Visited here with friends for a meal last week. I had beef lasagne which was lovely however it wasn't very warm. Would go back.

This was a great find, something for him and something for me all encsed in a lovely old building brimming with history and immaculately kept. Just one little niggle, they stopped serving at 10.30pm
