If you have coeliac disease - eating out in Cumbria isn't always the relaxing and enjoyable experience that it should be. This restaurant has been a great find. If you are on a gluten free diet - I'd really recommend trying it. Always a good idea to give them a heads up when booking because wheat does feature in some... More

We booked to go for New Years eve as a special treat and were not disappointed. The food quality, and innovative approach to combinations were amazing. Such a great find cannot wait to return. I'm a veggie but my husband is not but he really enjoyed it too. You will not be disappointed by the food, ambiance or service it... More

Just over a year since I was last here. Welcome and meal was up to the standard I have experienced previously. Must go back sooner!

We visited Q & M for the first time in two years last week end. The visitor experience is simply first class. If this were in a city the prices would be over £100 a head. Let my photos do the talking, not me

When in the Lakes we normally go to Zefferelli's in Ambleside - we didn't know another veggie restaurant existed. We were very excited to find Quince and Medlar and had high hopes when we arrived. We were taken into a little anti-room to choose our menu, have a couple of bite sized appetisers and then our drinks. The food was... More

A wonderful evening was spent at the Q&M for our wedding anniversary. The food was amazing - an explosion of flavours in each mouthful of every course! Impeccable service, relaxed atmosphere, delightful setting. Highly recommended. We'll most definitely return.

Charming restaurant! Intimate and cosy. Excellent front of house, very welcoming and friendly. Always plenty of choice on the menu. Meals are vegetarian, can be vegan and wheat free. Ideal for individual dining, as a couple or larger group. Value for money, reasonably priced.

Went to this wonderful restaurant with my family to celebrate my 60th birthday. Have been once before and thoroughly enjoyed the food and once again I had the most marvellous meal. None of the party are true vegetarians but we all enjoy good food served in a lovely setting. There is ample choice of dishes and everything that our party... More

We visited this wonderful find last night with a couple of friends who are not completely vegetarian or vegan. What a treat. We had never been here before and we are so glad we made the 40 minute drive to try it out. The hospitality, ambience, service and food was excellent. The menu is for both vegetarians and vegans with... More
