Hi! Thanks for stopping by and enjoying one of our homemade scones! Having it with some lovely clotted cream is the ONLY way to eat a scone in my opinion :) Please visit us again soon! More

Nipped in on the way past for a couple of drinks mid morning, nice sitting out on the terrace overlooking the stream, nice menu and ice creams, must admit the last time we visited it was hot chocolate indoors what a difference the weather makes

Hi Paul, Thanks for the nice comments and stopping by again! Yes, the weather can make all the difference. Being from California, I certainly prefer the sunshine myself, but we do our best to cater to all situations. I hope you visit us again soon! More

Have visited this cafe several times for tea and cake. This time it was very disappointing. Two of the family ordered the All Day Breakfast Sandwich. We have had such sandwiches eleswhere often and always it includes an egg and bacon and/or sausage. These sandwiches are not all day breakfast sandwiches - these are bacon OR sausage sandwiches - ie... More

Hi, Thank you for your candid critique. I'm sorry we did not meet your expectations this visit. It does clearly state on our menus what the breakfast sandwiches entail, the majority of these sandwiches are ordered in the morning, i.e. breakfast time; because we do serve them all day, they are named as such. As for the jacket potato, we... More

Lovely spot for a light lunch or cream tea, overlooking the river. On our visit, we enjoyed a late breakfast of excellent Cumberland sausage, zingy, freshly squeezed orange juice and coffee. All very good and pleasant staff. Gets quite busy on a sunny weekend but the staff kept things moving along pretty quickly and if you can't get a seat... More

Lovely tranquil location sat out at the side of the river, my only complaint was I paid fir an extra topping on my jacket potato but the minuscule amount served wasn't worth what I paid so wish I hadn't bothered the food otherwise was ok

Really disappointing! Visited at lunch and struggled to get seated. Staff rushed off their feet and kept you waiting for ages to make a simple coffee! Children's sandwich was £3.50 and came with no garnish, crisps or drink! It's blatantly obvious that they are milking the location and tourists.

Hello Ben, Thank you for the candid review. It is unfortunate for your expectations that you happened to visit us on one of our busiest days of the year. Popped into for a bite. Very nice tearoom. Very clean. Friendly staff. Sandwiches made to order. Don't expect it to be cheap. But very tasty.

Hi Phil, Thank you for the nice comments. I am glad you had an enjoyable visit with us! In regard to your comment on the cost, you'll find it's on par with prices in the Lake District, and in fact, one of the least expensive cafes in Grasmere. I hope you visit us again soon. More
