We had a wonderful lunch! Delicious turkey sandwich. After the sandwich we had a dessert! That was so so nice....

This is the second visit here and yet again we were disappointed with the service. In the summer it was busier so understood the delay in getting served but this time was just mildly offensive. We arrived to one lady behind the bar obviously on her own serving and taking the orders, however she greeted us and told us to take... More

I recently visited this pub with my girlfriend and uncle who was visiting us. He stayed here a couple of nights and said it was a lovely room and a very good breakfast. The pub has not long been refurbished and is very nice. The food we had was lovely, the beer was also very good. Only downside I had was,... More

What a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. Has been refurbished in recent years as it is no longer stuck in the 1800s. Nicely decorated yet it retains its old world charm. Food is amazing and a great choice of ales. Book a table in the conservatory or by a window and you will have amazing views looking... More

Went for a good catchup with a friend and we both ordered the beefburgers, they were delicious all homemade with onion rings and coleslaw. Service was fast and efficient and the whole place looked very clean and welcoming. Will definitely be back, keep up the good work, Easy to get too, big carpark, spaciously laid out so not all tables... More

Dropped in on the spur of the moment. Was fairly quiet when we arrived, was told to sit anywhere so sat in window overlooking the hills. It did fill up quite quickly though. We chose from the set lunch menu. Both had the Westmorland ramekin which was absolutely delicious. I had a homemade steak pie with chips, it was beautiful,... More

Stayed here for a couple of nights just me and the dog, and we loved it! The room was lovely, with a brilliant comfy bed. I ate here both nights and really enjoyed the food and relaxed atmosphere. Would definitely recommend

A group of us went for Sunday Lunch, with a baby, toddler and 2 dogs in tow, The Gateway were very accommodating. Everyone had a Sunday roast except for me as there was no vegetarian version on offer (rather disappointing), everyone cleared their plates and my soup was lovely.

Visited the restaurant last Tuesday, the food was excellent. Visited again the following evening the food was very disappointing. I did wonder if the same chef had cooked the dinner. I had lamb which was tough and tasteless. One of my friends had the creme brûlée for dessert, it was obviously stale as the bottom part of the dessert was... More

I went with friends this weekend for Sunday lunch and it was really delicious!! The staff couldn’t do enough for us and the meal was served very promptly. There was plenty of meat/veg and it was beautifully presented. Very reasonably priced too! I will be definitely revisiting in the future!
