Not obvious down one of kendals ancient alleys the Joshua Tree is a bistro that's well worth seeking out. When the weather is chilly there is always an inviting real fire to keep you warm and when the sun shines there is a quaint outside garden area to eat and relax in. The food is first rate and there are... More
Dropped on this little bistro tucked away behind the main street in Kendal. Booked with the recommendations from trip advisor reviews, as we were staying in Kendal for the weekend. Lovely home cooked food, extremely tasty, 3 course meal deal for £17.95 each, which is a bargain. It's like sitting in some one's front room with the homely atmosphere and... More
Treat the family to lunch. A great menu that suited Grandma to teenage children. Tasty, freshly cooked and locally sourced food. My only complaint is why spoil such lovely food with single sachet condiments. Worth a visit to try the £3 special - homemade cake and coffee
Had three courses here on a Saturday night. The pork was the best I I have ever eaten. I'm not too keen on pork usually but my visit here has changed my mind! The homemade pate starter was delicious too. Brownie with pecan ended a lovely meal. Hubby had green lip mussels followed by duck leg. Again, he was full... More
Came across by chance, tucked away but well worth a visit. The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly. I can even forgive them for asking if we were from Dudley ! Would recommend to anyone visiting Kendal
Works Christmas meal Dec17th. Prebooked as 14 of us. Given menues before hand to choose so wouldn't be kept waiting on night. Good choice. Even allowed to add extra starter for us fussy ones! Generous servings from starters to puddings. Great service, very personal and homely. Nothing too much trouble. Lovely food. Best Christmas meal for a long time! Couldn't... More
Happily stumbled upon the Joshua Tree last night when out hunting for our evening meal. We luckily found it on its monthly late opening for starter and pudding club and bagged the last free table which was only free due to a cancellation. We had three starters and two puddings each which were all amazing, great for me as I... More
Saw the sign down an alleyway and decided this was the place for us to eat. Lovely lady (believe the owner) welcomed us. It was like dining in someone's house. Loved the ambience. The pate starter was superb.smoked mackerel with beetroot was ordered too. The risotto was lovely as was the slow cooked braised lamb. No room for pudding.
