Been for a walk from Helsington Church arriving at Sizergh Cafe for afternoon tea. Great drinks and cakes. Plenty of inside and outside seating. Always a bonus the loyalty card.

We were shocked by how poor the food was here - and, for lunch where we just had soup, it was too expensive! We had have much better stayed at the Sizergh Barn Farm cafe - where the coffee, tea, scones and service we had earlier...More

We stopped off for lunch snack before visiting the castle. The food was very good and well presented. The only down side was that a coach load of visitors arrived making it very busy.

Properties vary but this one is accessible without paying to go to the house . New modern building houses shop and cafe with the usual fare for national trust - but lovely triangular scones and tea were excellent.

An excellent amenity for visitors and well laid out with a variety of snacking options. Ideally visit beforehand or on the way out - a pleasant environment.
