We had already had lunch at Rheged and visited the Narrowbar Café for a mid afternoon cuppa after wandering around the shops. We shared a big pot of tea and M had a delicious date flapjack. But having seen the menu on the blackboard we wished we were able to have another lunch - lots of veggie choices and it... More

We ordered a soup and sandwich and a chicken salad from the special board. Both were lovely and the soup combo was a large portion, definitely filling! Service was great and it was nice to see (well behaved) dogs there too. We didn't have our dog with us but we did have a baby and she enjoyed the food! We... More

Very comfortable cafe. Great food and drinks and friendly staff. The offering of the dog biscuits were a lovely touch.

This is a lovely little coffee shop with a cosy little upstairs also. There is seating outside at the back in the paved area of the little shopping street. Plenty of choice on the menu also.

My Mam and I go most Saturdays from Carlisle as we find the food so tasty and good. If we visit other cafe's we always say nothing compares to the Narrow Bar Cafe. Really lovely staff and great food. We have been going for years. 5 stars!

Me and my partner stopped in what seemed far too early of a morning to be greeted with friendly attentive staff, and a truly great fry up for him, and a yummy eggs benedict for me! We were tight for time, explained this on arrival and were seen to quickly but never felt rushed.

My wife & I have called here twice & found it very good on both occasions. The staff are very pleasant, the food (I think) must be freshly baked daily & is very good.

We headed back to the Narrowbar for lunch when we were in Penrith. Once again a really good experience - the menu is extensive and varied and the specials board is always a good option. The staff are busy but unfailingly polite and helpful. We really enjoy eating here.
