We absolutely LOVE the food here. Always exceptionally tasty and the vegetable are plentiful and cooked the way we like them - not overdone. They have three real ales, including their own brew which is a great session beer. Lovely atmosphere, clean and well presented. The staff provide a warm welcome and are friendly and attentive. We go regularly for... More

Firstly having heard great things about this place I was really looking forward to out visit. The food was excellent and well worth the money - Sunday roast beef with homemade Yorkshire pudding, various steamed veg and potatoes followed by chocolate cake and ice cream. The food, presentation and service were excellent and were a credit to the place -... More

Warmly welcomed and shown to a table beside a radiator which was appreciated on a cold windy day ( it is after all called the Windmill!). We overlooked the local allotments which supplied some of the fresh vegetables. The pea, ham and mustard home-made soup was tasty and hot for a cold day served with warm bread. The specials of... My hubby and I tend to go here on our birthdays. We have only been at early lunchtime so have always got in without booking. We have never had a bad meal here and the staff are friendly and we have found the service to be good. There is a good choice, the food is nicely presented and the deserts... More

Our favourite place for quality food and service, never been disappointed. Lunchtime or evening it is a reasonably priced menu using local top quality produce but you should call to make sure a table is available as it can get very busy, particularly in the evening.

You could very easily drive straight by the Windmill and never know it was there. If you do find it, stop and enjoy. You will never forget your visit. What a great little place. We called in for Sunday lunch and oh boy was it a Sunday lunch to remember. From the great choice of starters through the mains to... More

I have visited several times before and have really enjoyed it, was a little disappointed this time. Not a great menu choice & glasses had lipstick on. Probably won't be going again 😓

This is well-hidden in a part of Wymeswold set back in the main village, off the main through A road to East Mids airport. The menu is unusual, varied and excellent. The pub environment is clean, warm and cosy - it hasn't been sanitised like so many other gastropubs. The starter of whitebait was excellent and the lamb kofta main... More

We have dined at The Windmill quite a few times over the past few years and always had a good meal. However, last night was not so good. Firstly we weren't shown to a table just pointed in the direction of where to sit. The seat at the table we were given was very badly stained, the table itself felt... More

From the start to finish, the service we received was second to none. Friendly welcome from the owner, Steve at the bar and then Sophie looked after us for rest of the night, she was so lovely too! We both chose the soup (tasted delicious!) followed by the fish pie (equally amazing as the soup) accompanied by the biggest bowl... More
