Enjoyed an excellent meal, food was accomplished, beautifully presented & very flavoursome. I wasn't surprised to discover from the chefs website resumé that he served 5 years at old foodie temple Winteringham Fields plus a spell at the fabulous but short lived Rish in York. Food here indicates a well trained hand & I would highly recommend it to anyone... More

“Fine food, splendidly presented and served” was the title I gave when I last reviewed this restaurant in March 2012 when I said: "This restaurant, in its very ancient (900 year old), honey limestone, Grade I listed, home, is full of atmosphere. It is ideal for a special celebration. The attention to detail and service is fantastic. The food is... More

Tasting menu was excellent and introduced with great knowledge and passion. We are now experts on the merits of 48 day dry aged beef ... And very good it was too.

I realise that there are constraints of the building but the lighting was very dull and there was a step ladder out next to me to help the staff get access to the wine which didn't add to the ambience. The staff were very friendly and the timing of service was spot on. Some of the food was was very... More

To find cuisine of this quality in Lincoln was, frankly, a surprise. The menu is reassuringly short, with an emphasis on local produce. The Lincolnshire lamb was pink and perfect, the seared mackerel is a great idea, perfectly executed. An excellent wine list, without greedy mark-ups. The ambience is delightful and service exemplary. In short - come here and give... More

Ate at the Jews House midweek on a short break in Lincoln. Nice location. Attentive staff and pleasant dining room (perhaps a little too dimly lit to see the food as well as it deserves, but this is a very common complaint of ours). We dined a la Carte and the food was solid and well-executed, and served at exactly... More

Visiting Lincoln for 4 days I booked The Jews House after researching the local restaurants & this is something I always do. The restaurant is a traditional establishment in a grade one listed building with a quiet & cosy environment. The staff were welcoming, pleasant & helpful & included the owner on the night we visited. The menu is small... More

This was a special birthday meal, and it certainly lived up to expectations. We had the six-course taster menu, which was excellent value. The wi e list is relatively small, but nevertheless has a good range of not too expensive wines. We would certainly go again.

I came here for lunch with ten others for my 21st birthday celebration. I cannot say a bad word. The combination of flavours were incredible and the chocolate ganache with passion fruit cream and coffee granite was one of the best desserts I have ever tasted! The staff were friendly and helpful. The interesting history of the building was explained... More
