Went for lunch, the food was delicious and the service was friendly and informative. Rarebit was amazing and the choice of cheeses to buy was huge. Took nearly as long to decide as it did to eat lunch.

Visited The Cheese Society for a spot of lunch, and certainly wasn't disappointed. We opted for the cheese and meat board and it was delicious! Apart from being brilliantly tasty, it was also good value for money, especially when all the produce is of such a good quality, and there was no shortage of some fabulous cheeses too! Staff were... The service here is first class and the food is superb. I would definitely eat here again. Shame the premises are not bigger as the only downside was the lack of room

There are a couple of disadvantages when you go to the Cheese Society- you can't book and there are only a few tables which are often cramped. However- it is such a fantastic place that these disadvantages don't matter at all. The food is delicious, stunning and delectable. I can't recommend one dish - between my husband and I we... More

After doing our research we went to buy a present of local cheeses for a friend. The selection of local, regional and international is amazing! The staff are so helpful, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and friendly and all cheeses can be sampled prior to purchase. There are also a large selection of accompaniments and accessories as well as a small café area.... More

This cheese cafe is so tiny you are very lucky to get a table. But if you love cheese you have to try it. We enquired about a table then had to wait half an hour. (Walked up and down Steep Hill to work up an appetite) but it was worth it. I had the cheese soufflé which was delicious... More

What a fantastic place! Multitude of cheese dishes, all of which sounded fabulous. I had a delicious tartiflette that was super creamy, with the contrast of sweet caramelised onions and the tartness of the cheese. Absolutely heavenly on a day when it was snowing outside! A select offering of local beers/ciders, and super service. Great value too. Simple idea, but... More

We were only intending to have a look in the window as we strolled past..popped in just to buy some cheese, and ended up staying for lunch. So pleased we did! Freshly baked cheese scones with smoked salmon, cream cheese and dressed salad at £8 was just delicious and incredible value. Fancied everything on the menu, really - and all... More

I've been a customer at the Cheese Society for years and always delight in bringing friends here who haven't been before as I know they will come away as Cheese Society converts. The food here is fabulous and a place you can come as a single and feel comfortable or with friends. I usually have the twice-baked soufflé, but have... More

Recommended this place by friends who visit Lincoln regularly. Friendly staff greeted us and found us a table for three. It isn't a large dining area so some people were turned away whilst we were there. Obviously a popular place. Plenty of cheese options on the menu . We had Cheese Scones with Cheese and Butter, Goat's Cheese with Caramelised... More
