City Centre Cocktail Bar, serving food and drink in tastefully decorated surroundings over three floors. Serving Breakfast at weekends, it's always a lively atmosphere and positively adored by large groups especially Hen do's at weekends. We're famous for our 2 for 1 cocktails all day, our bottomless brunches, cocktail making classes and daily lunch/after work offers as well as our food which is served until 9pm daily. Booked a table for Tuesday evening and after been greeted at the door we were shown to our table, after sitting down I had asked if we could move to a different table one by the window if possible as I pointed out an empty table. We were told no as it was all fully booked, fair enough. Ordered food and drinks through the add, food came quick enough and was quite tasty, no one came to check how it was half way through which was the only down side for the food. In terms of the drinks it all just seemed a little bit too much effort for people, pornstar martinis arrived why seemed just over half full, we were sat at a table need the bar so could see the drinks getting made and had our drinks waiting on the bar as staff just seemed to walk past oblivious and were stood at the corner all joking about cutlery. We visit s&l around wherever we’re visiting but unfortunately due to the lack of service we probably won’t be returning to this one.
Just to add the cherry on the top we ended up knowing the couple that sat on the table near the window and after speaking to them turns out they didn’t even book they just walked in and got shown to the ‘fully booked’ table.

We came to your Liverpool resturant for the bottomless brunch.
Service was good once they realised where we were sat (at the back corner booth) as you have very high boards between your booths which makes it so they cannot see you maybe think of putting a clear plastic there instead of a big piece of board.
And I understand it’s there for distancing rules.
We were waiting a while before we got served and had to go up and ask as we were there for the two hour bottomless brunch.
The lady who was looking after us was fab in the end she made sure after that we had drinks none stop and topped up.
Food was nice. My friend seem to get the better value for money in the full English breakfast compared to the chicken and pancakes were a little sad but yummy.
One major issue we had was the state of your ladies toilets.
To put it straight they were disgusting.
The sinks were dirty and covered in what looked like grey stuff around the taps and hair.
Ontop of that your hand sanitiser outside the toilets was either broke or not kept filled up.
I used your toilets once and not again as I would rather of gone somewhere else to use a toilet.
We’re not from Liverpool so I don’t know if this is how it is usually.
Your staff were lovely just the cleanliness of the toilets and a very sticky floor was a massive let down.

Started our day here, as a group of 6 hen party. Great selection of meals on the deal with good selection of drinks. Most of us wanted mimosas so recieved bottles between us, 4 altogether and a jug of orange juice.
A good value for money and a great start to the day, great decor to the place.

Staff made us feel very uncomfortable when they asked for our IDs as soon as we entered the premises on a Monday night at 6pm in the evening. We are under 18s and wanted a meal with friends but the staff at Slug & Lettuce singled us out from other guests and made us feel really embarrassed.
There was then an issue with the booking on their part which resulted in us being moved to a different table. This table was in a completely different part of the restaurant which required us to order food and drinks on our phones. Our table was situated right next to the door which meant we were very cold throughout our meal. We were told that we’d only get an hour to eat because we were under 18, which meant that we rushed our meals. It didn’t help that once ordering food and drink through the app, drinks took 30 minutes to come out and food 45 minutes. Bearing in mind this was a Monday night at a very quiet time!!
When food did arrive, it was cold and one of the meals had two onion rings and a few fries. No apology was offered for some of the meals that arrived 30-45 minutes after the rest of the table had started to eat and this angered us even more. Staff claimed that “There’s a 30 minute wait on drinks”.... who waits 30 minutes for their first drinks at a restaurant??
We were disappointed at how this one lady treated us throughout our evening and were not happy at the lack of service we received... something we expect at a restaurant.
As a group of 5 young people, we would not recommend this restaurant/bar to anyone.

Me and my friends came to the liverpool slug and lettuce for cocktails and food on the bank holiday Sunday. I’d not seen them in over a year because of lock down! Our table was booked for 7:30. We arrived around 7:25 and no one seemed to know anything about our booking and you could tell people were running around trying to fit us in when we booked this table about 2 months ago! Eventually we were seated. There was 3 of us and we were out on a big table for 4 people. Opposite us was a round table with no one on and 4 chairs. We asked politely if we could swap tables and the waitress was so rude and abrupt and spoke to my friend in a patronising way ‘I’ve told you once now stop asking’. When it would have been a simple switch. I ordered 2 cocktails and they were awful. Worst I’ve ever had and when you pay money for cocktails you expect them to be nice. My friend got a cocktails and it came without the sweet bracelet it was advertised with. The food was average. Very small amount of fries and the burgers were tiny, and the beef burger was very burnt. The toilets were absolutely disgusting, these need to be cleaned more regularly. Wasnt the worst night I’ve ever had but there is room for improvement and when you’ve not seen your friends in so long you want a good night !!

Booked a table and turned up on time, waited too long to be asked in and was then told to find the table with my name on. After much searching and no help from the staff we found our table........with someone ekse sat at it!! Another table was found and then after some time we were told that there was no table service and we had to order and pay for our meal and drinks at the bar. We duly followed those instructions and then waited and waited and waited. As no food was forthcoming and we had a later appointment coming up we were left with no option but to cancel the order, request a refund and move on. Sadly the actions, or should I say lack of action of the staff marred what had been a great visit to Liverpool. Had it been busy I might have shown a little more patience but there were plenty of spare tables so obviously not operating at max capacity. We most certainly will not be returning to this establishment.

Decided to try the restaurant as part of the government backed eat out to help out. Arrived for a dinner reservation, ordered drinks and then some food. Food was pretty good although when we ordered more drinks a wait of almost 25mins wasn’t really acceptable. Once we were done and asked for the bill the server told us that to receive the “eat out to help out” discount it had to be requested (no where in the restaurant guidance states it is to be requested!)
Less than a minute later a new bill came out with the discount taken off. Not sure how a major chain can get guidance so wrong when they signed up to it!! Certainly wouldn’t go back there again if this is the trick they play on customers.

Booked a table for my birthday - the table that we was on wasn’t steady, asked for pina colada didn’t have none, asked for another drink they didn’t have none. The food was over cooked we got the sharing platter the ‘sliders’ were hard and hardly had any filling, chicken wings extremely over cooked the only decent thing was probably onion rings & garlic bread & the staff are trying to hurry you out the door coming over saying we had 20 mins left but we ordered drinks 30 mins prior to that. So yeah all in all wasn’t the best birthday but hey ho

Had a bad experience here on Saturday for brunch. Which is a shame as me and my friend had been looking forward to this for over a month. My friend wanted to upgrade but wasn't able to as I don't drink porn star martinis, I was happy to pay the extra £10 if I could swap my porn star martini for something else, even if it was a vodka lemonade or something cheaper but was BLUNTLY told no and was persistently cut off by the Waitress before I could finish my sentence. We accepted that and moved on to ordering the meal, we upgraded £3 to the wider menu and I ordered a steak sandwich to be told that they had ran out of BUNS and it would be a wrap, I was fine with that but then 10 minutes later she comes back to tell me they've now ran out of steak so I ordered a chicken wrap, which was abysmal to say the least considering I paid extra for it. 1 piece of chicken slapped in the middle of lettuce and a wrap the size of Africa. There was more wrap that my plate. Chips were completely overdone and dry. Really upset about this service and wasn't even given an apology.

Before I write review like add, never been out for food had poor service or begrudgingly paid for a meal. This first for me im not fussy. Went for bottomless brunch with my house mates, to get in the Christmas spirit. I was looking forward too it . I didn't take pictures of starts but hash brown cheese litrally all it is, use your imagine think worst possible way it could turn up. Pictures below are of mains , eggs benadict, porn star pan cakes sounds exciting right ? Wrong 5 pancakes piled up with but fruit on top other 4 were dry had ask for syrup. Left 3 put that way. No decoration or effort put in.
Our waitress was lovely very attentive, there for didn't want complain wasn't a reflection on her at all.
The dessert was nice will say that . But I really think they need put more effort in , bottomless seen bit mean you meant be kept topped up.
I did take note other people's meal looked OK.
I have eatten in there few times been nice I just think let the bottomless Christmas brunch is let down not worth money at all.

Ordered a BLT avocado sub the chicken came undercooked and their were beer flies in the cocktails. When we spoke to staff about food they said we had to order something else even though the undercooked chicken had put us off. Ended up being compensated with a portion of fries instead of a meal. Wouldn’t recommend!!

We travelled from Glasgow for a friends Hen Do and pre booked the bottomless brunch at Slug and Lettuce. Total waste of our time. Our tables weren't ready on arrival and we waited an hour and 10 minutes for our drink orders to arrive in a 2-hour slot for bottomless brunch! Another hen party arrived after us and received their food and drinks before our first drink arrived. We had also phoned prior to arrival with our food order as we were a party of 14. The general staff were nice enough but the manager Martin made us feel unwelcome and like we were lying. The place is full of CCTV so we literally couldn't lie about the time scales as we were sat right in front of a camera. We were eventually asked to leave with no food arriving and one drink. Hardly bottomless. They did send over prosecco but only a small number of our party actually enjoy this drink and prosecco was also on the menu for bottomless brunch so it did feel like a cop-out. I would recommend larger parties to NOT go here for hens etc. We booked in advance, sent our food orders in advance and arrived 10 minutes early and they still couldn't get it right.

The server Paul was very friendly until he accused us of having extra drinks and when we explained that we hadn’t had them he was saying we are incorrect and still charging for the drinks. We waited 30 minutes for him to correct this issue but he was still adamant that we were wrong. Very unimpressed with Paul

Attended here 11th Sept.
Pre COVID one of my favourite places to spend a Saturday afternoon.
Sadly post COVID I think the management have lost there way in relation to how you order drinks.
If you don’t use the app then you run the gauntlet of standing at the bar.
Unfortunately they only have one serving and when a hen party turns up and orders 46 drinks then you can imagine how the people waiting get fed up and leave.
Come on management give the staff some help or unfortunately the likes of me will visit your competitors instead.

I had seen all the bad reviews on here and thought I’d give them the Benefit of the doubt and still go, wish I hadn’t now. Half of the Drinks aren’t as advertised and don’t come as they are described, the only nice one was the pornstar martini . The food was okay and the seating area was uncomfortable as the tables were pushed up against each other so we were basically sitting on top of other people all night making this definitely not covid secure in any way. There also wasn’t any room either side of our table so we felt as if we had to reduce the amount of times we got up! We were also sat next to the exit door which the security was standing next to and felt very uncomfortable as he was there just standing there the whole time we were there. We left a lot earlier than planned. As someone who regularly plan’s nights out for colleagues i would be extremely embarrassed to ever recommend this venue.
