Visited this lovely little cafe on aigburth road for breakfast .... it's a lovely quirky little place not sure if it's trying to be a bit bohemian with little wooden tables and mismatch chairs but the old green chesterfield with torn leather arms & cushions results in it looking scruffy rather than bohemian ...... BUT the place is immaculate -... More

I found the Onion by chance, looking for a cafe in the area. There was a friendly welcome which was such a pleasant surprise as I'd been having "a bad day at the office." The quality of my breakfast was really good, and I think I'll be having the same again when I next visit. Great place. Highly recommended.

We always visit here for breakfast or Lunch. The breakfasts are lovely - door stop fresh toast, great bacon and sausage and home-made baked beans if you want. The lunch selection is also great with amazing, fresh, home-made salad selections (potato salad, coleslaw, hummus etc) and a really nice home-made Spanish tortilla/fritatta. The decor is shabby-chic, no frills but the... More

I like the Onion! It's really shabby-chic (is this accidental, I wonder, but it works), and there's a variety of places to sit and eat, including comfy sofas. Reading material is there as well if you want to be anti-social. The food is excellent, simple and tasty, all made on-site, and you get a lot for your money. So much... More

Tatty place, not much in the way of decor....which actually isn't a criticism, it works in this places favour....it feels like your living room. I feel so comfortable there I could almost fall a kip. You get a solid little lunch here, the buttys are- for me- as good as butties get and, honestly one of the top three brekkys... More

We've been coming here for years and there are several reasons why we keep coming back; all the food is lovely and very reasonable, the coffee is one of the best in Liverpool, the staff are always friendly and welcoming and there is a relaxed and warm atmosphere. If I had to say anything critical I'd say the kitchen needs... More

Veggie breakfasts our nice. Although this place is kind of bohemian. With annoying music which is far to loud. The staff have inflated opinions of their environment. It's just a back street cafe.
