Went for the Sunday Lunch - we only had the two courses because we were stuffed for £16.95 but you can do three courses for £19.95. Superb value for money, food was delicious. Staff so friendly and attentive. Beautiful surroundings. Would definitely recommend the Sunday Roast and look forward to returning to try the other menus

A tasteful restoration done to an extremely high standard with great attention to detail. We didn't know about the 50% off all food until we arrived but would have happily paid full price for our meals. The vegan fish and chips were delicious just as tasty as cod and chips. My partner had the ribeye steak and said it was cooked to perfection. The proper sticky toffee pudding was very moreish, regrettably we got one between us. We don't drink but the cocktails being served looked impressive. The atmosphere was great, happy and friendly staff and relaxing music made for a great Friday evening. Will definitely be back soon.

Visited here on Monday night with some friends to celebrate a friends birthday before the new lockdown came into place. I was massively impressed by every aspect of the town hall, the staff were friendly & attentive, we were made to feel welcome upon entrance & felt very safe regarding COVID regulations. We each had a few cocktails and were so impressed by every single one, they were amazing as well as the food which was unreal! They offer a variety of different dishes & cater well for vegetarians/vegans. We asked the staff if they could add a candle to the birthday girls desert which they did, and also a few of the staff members sang happy birthday to her which we thought added to our experience. To top it all off they do 50% off food every Monday! Overall couldn’t recommend this place enough, definitely somewhere to think about visiting next time your looking to go out for a meal!

Hi,
Hope you are all well. I would like to leave a little feedback from our visit to the town hall today. Me and a friend has visited the venue today (30/12) at 3pm for an afternoon tea. I managed to book a table for us online (but there was no option to select afternoon tea, so I had to select lunch). I rang the town hall to inform that I would like an afternoon tea for my visit instead of lunch, and the gentleman on the phone kindly changed the booking for me accordingly.
When I arrived at the venue today, a lovely lady greeted me politely and I was pleased to be seated immediately with our table set up ready. I was still waiting for my friend to arrive, so the lady has served me some table water whilst I waited.
I especially loved the tea sets you have at the restaurant to serve afternoon tea, they all looked really sophisticated and pretty. There was no Earl grey tea as an option, but that didn’t really bother us, as we went on to order some green tea instead.
The afternoon tea wasn’t served immediately but the waitress explained to us that there was a party going on upstairs so the food was slightly delayed. Again, we were quite happy sitting down enjoying our tea whilst catching up with each other so it didn’t bother us too much.
The only thing that really disappoints us was the quality of the food served to us today. We didn’t feel that it was worth £18.95 per person for our afternoon tea experience. None of the sweets/cakes were ‘homemade’, mince pies were probably just out from a supermarket brand packet, same as the little squares of brownies. Scones were also probably from some supermarket packet, and it was served with butter instead of clotted cream! :(
I usually love having afternoon tea but this experience was really a let down, and for £18.95 I could’ve went somewhere else with better food quality.
I do have to give compliments to the staff who was working there though- very attentive and polite, good customer service. And the atmosphere in the town hall is brilliant, quiet and peaceful enough to have a conversation with other people.
I do hope the management will take this feedback on board and improve on the points made above.
Thank you.
Best wishes,
Annie Loi

We were left feeling slightly deflated following our meal for 2 adults and a teenager. My husband was disappointed with his 3 small croquettes, they were tasty but only 3. My sweet potato gratin was pretty tasteless and watery, left me feeling a bit non plussed. Mussels, as on previous menu were good, as were the 2 mini burgers and Korean chicken bites. Fries were nice too but not a taste sensation. Overall we felt that £80 plus was pretty expensive for what we received on a Thursday teatime in Wavertree. 10%service charge added to bill also.
*Also, there was a funeral party in the restaurant downstairs and we had to wait amongst the funeral guests before someone from the party told a member of staff we were waiting to be seated. It was really awkward and we were the only people eating at 5pm.
Lovely venue and great staff just don't think we'll be returning.

We live round the corner, have been twice before and would desperately like to see this venture survive and thrive. Surroundings are lovely. Staff are super attentive, even if the kitchen seems to struggle to keep up. But it has to get better. Easy things to change: the unchanging, overloud AOR playlist is totally out of keeping with the setting and nearly ruined our evening. Even the waiting staff are ground down by it, and aren’t allowed to change it. Harder but essential: quality of the food needs improve to match the prices. A £24 steak needs to be differentiated from what you’d get in a Harvester. Quality was markedly worse than last time we were here.

It was a bit concerning to be the only people in the restaurant at 7pm on a Wednesday evening but the welcome was warm and we hoped for the best.
We ordered the lamb rump. When it arrived, it looked perfect; beautifully presented. The potatoes and vegetables - and the jus - were wonderful but the lamb was inedible - so full of gristle that it couldn’t be chewed.
When the waitress checked we pointed this out and she offered us another option but we were too far advanced (and under time pressure) so that wasn’t practical, so we ended up paying over £40 for two inedible meals.
It’s a pity, and we understand that the chef might not be to blame for natural variations in the meat, but it was so bad that we won’t go back. Sad because I think the team are making a great effort and the waitress was exceptional, but in the end we go to a restaurant for good food and this wasn’t good.

Visited here tonight and took the family. I don’t even know what to say other that it was absolutely amazing from start to finish. The restaurant itself is stunning, the warm welcome and attentive service continued throughout with the amazing Amy and Sev, nothing was too much trouble and they made us laugh all night. The food was unreal. Portions are massive for “small plates” and we definitely ordered too much, but still ate it all as we didn’t want to leave anything. The fish and chips and honey glazed chorizo were a stand out for me and then a huge portion of sticky toffee pudding was a perfect way to end the meal. If you you haven’t been yet make sure it’s next on your list. 10/10.

First time visit for me and my partner over the weekend. The restaurant was very well decorated and extremely clean throughout. From the moment we arrived the service was exceptional! We had ribs and pate for starters and both were amazing. The best part of the meal for us both was the 10oz Bacon Steak (highly recommended!). Me and my partner both said that this is best steak we have ever tried (and I've eat a lot of steaks!!).
I highly recommend Wavertree Town Hall for anyone looking for a top quality meal with top quality service.

We came here for lunch and got the lunch time offer 3 small plates for £15.00. Our waiter was really friendly and came across as loving life which was lovely to see. The plates were really good portion sizes and the food was amazing, we didn't have to wait long for our lunch to come. I would highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

Well what can I say, I've been blown away by the service and food we have received this evening. The staff were excellent and so attentive and compliments to the chef(s) the tapas selection and quality was second to none. You don't need to go to city centre to receive such a high quality service when this place is on your doorstep and excellent value for money. Please give it a try we will be booking the Tapas evening again very soon thanks again for such a, wonderful evening.

came to Wavertree Townhall on Sunday night with my boyfriend and had the most delicious roast I think I’ve ever had in my life. These are the Marks & Spencer‘s of roast dinners they are one step above everyone. I couldn’t make my mind up if I wanted lamb or beef so my lovely waitress Carolina suggested I have mixed meat with my boyfriend, So half and half where they prepared it for us in the kitchen so that we didn’t have any messy splattering or dividing to do when our meals arrive we could just sit back and enjoy it which I can assure you that we did , very much so! The gravy was absolutely to die for it was rich and delightful, the meat rare and sumptuous, the cabbage sauteed with butter, homemade yorkshire puddings cannot be beaten, and the potatoes, those potatoes! I’m usually keto however today was worth giving up the diet for in here and I don’t regret one single moment! We ordered some cauliflower cheese on the side and we were again not disappointed , really fresh cauliflower served in a rich, creamy cheese sauce. Yum! I server Carolina went above and beyond to make her experience extra special. I asked about portion sizes as I have a very hungry partner and she was recommending things for him and for myself I wanted to light a starter so I went for the party it was gorgeous home-made and you can really tell it was chicken liver pate is my favourite! I’m not usually into chocolate deserts I find them quite rich however I do love chocolate and orange together so thought I’d give the chocolate orange brownie a try with ice cream my boyfriend went to the salted caramel cheesecake we decided to share and when I say sure I meant he got a little bit and I had 1 1/2 desserts! You can tell but everything is home-made, And the chocolate orange brownie was a game changer I just change my opinion on chocolate desserts once and for all! Carolina was the most amazing host and Leon also looked after us. The building is absolutely stunning these guys have really put a lot of thought and effort into how this plays should look. I’ve had friends that have come here for a wedding a few weeks ago and were telling me all about the amazing function room that they have upstairs and how lovely everything was. So glad that I finally got to try this myself. Wavertree Townhall you did not disappoint and we can’t wait for the next time. I think that we are particularly lucky having this gorgeous place right on our doorstep as we live in Wavertree. Beautiful roast, wonderful host, loved it. 10/10! xxxx thank you Carolina and Leon! x

Took family there for Sunday Lunch had a couple of drinks in bar area, they had a nice range of beers and do a great range of Gins, we tried the Wavertree Gin that I would highly recommend, we also had a pre lunch cocktail which was delish. Waiter service in the bar area was excellent quick and attentive . When it was time to eat we were shown to a table by our waiter who took our drinks order that appeared quickly, and then our food order. Starters arrived promptly, hot and tasty I would recommend the Mushrooms on Sourdough creamy flavoursome mushrooms piles high on toasted sourdough. Yum! The men at the table went for the Ribs and where very happy with their choice "sweet and tangy and a good portion" was the verdict. We all opted for the Lamb roast though there was good selection of roasted meats to choose from and I believe a vegetarian option too, good portion of tender tasty lamb, nicely cooked vegetables, and huuuuge yorkshire puds. After the main only one of us could fit in desert and he loved the Chocolate Orange Brownie with Chocolate sauce and Vanilla Icecream. We had a lovely afternoon at the Town Hall the food was great the service excellent would happily recommend to others.

I live around the corner from this restaurant and have now been 3 times. The last visit was last week with 2 friends - I was introducing them to the delights of the Wavertree Town Hall! One of my friends is gluten intolerant and the staff were really attentive to make sure she was happy with her meal. Delicious meal as always. We all enjoyed it.

We visited this venue for a family members funeral in June 2021 and I must say I was impressed; the function room upstairs is fantastic; the room is modern; spacious and really comfortable. The room was well done out for us; the service provided by the staff was absolutely second to none; we had our own bar and their was always a waiter/waitress ready to take your order; staff we really efficient. The venue is extremely covid secure; spare masks on all tables if we needed them; lots of places to sanitise your hands and the staff was constantly cleaning down frequently touched areas.
I was also really impressed by the great selection of alcohol on offer; lots of different gins, champagne and even the very best cocktails - I was in my element. The food was provided in the package and we got the curry; chicken drumsticks and sandwiches; all made/cooked to perfection. Overall, I can’t thank the staff for the amazing service they provided to us and I am just so happy we have found this hidden gem! I would highly recommend!
