We came for lunch after seeing they cater so well for vegans as well as meat eaters and liked it so much, we can back for tea! Food was delicious and staff were lovely, helpful and welcoming. Lunch time was better in terms of ambience, for me, as it was quieter. Food and service were just as good in the evening but music was louder and made conversation a little harder. Definitely well worth a visit and I can highly recommend the aubergine curry with coconut rice!

Just had an excellent meal, lovely cocktails and great service. Me and my husband was served by a lovely girl called Mel she was so helpful, recommended meals and you could tell she loved her job and was happy to serve her tables and keep customers happy. Food was lovely and the jerk chicken was the best I’ve ever tasted. 241 cocktails were nice. Would definitely return and highly recommend.

Booked for an evening meal. Cocktails were 2 for the price of 1 and they did not skimp on the alcohol. The food was fantastic as always. We had spicy prawns to start which were delicious. Then we had jerk chicken and baby back ribs, accompanied by spicy fries and Mac n cheese. The food was delicious and we love this restaurant chain.

Heard good things about Turtle Bay and thought we’d try it. Was seated and served straight away, probably due to the lack of people in the restaurant. However, ordered food and drinks, one drink came back wrong but didn’t complain as my partner wasn’t too fussed. However, when it came to food, only 4 of us were served our food and 2 people were forgotten about and had to ask the waiter for their food as the waiter thought they hadn’t ordered anything. Not only that, it took two tries to get food right as someone was given a burger which they didn’t order and then had to wait another 10/15 minutes to finally get the food they ordered, by this time we had all finished eating except that one person. I’d understand if the restaurant was busy but there were only about 4 tables filled up and at least 3 servers waiting on! Definitely wasn’t worth £80, especially with how much the food was messed about with!

We arrived at turtle bay to be greeted at the door by a member of staff who asked us what was the name of the booking. When we stated the name she told us that no booking had been made. My friend told her that she had booked over the phone because the website on that current day was not working so she couldn’t book online. She said that the woman was very friendly on the phone and told her that a table could be booked over the phone. However my friend said she had to ring again to ensure the table was booked because she didn’t get a confirmation email and she spoke to another member of staff over the phone who also said that the table was definitely booked. The member of staff in the restaurant then sharply said that they don’t take bookings over the phone and never had taken bookings over the phone. My friend also said that she spoke to someone called Victoria on the phone and the staff member also rudely replied saying that a Victoria has never worked there. At this point there wasn’t much we could do so we asked if we could be seated without a booking as we looked around and most of the tables were empty. We were then told we couldn’t be seated without a booking which meant that we had to leave the restaurant and look for somewhere else to eat and drink. We were very disappointed by this incident as we have been to turtle bay on Hanover street many times and had a really good experience however the incident that occurred on Victoria street has made us not really want to go there ever again in fear of being rudely turned down without a single apology.

This was the first time we have dined at Turtle Bay, and first impressions were great. Good music and nice decor. The starters arrived in reasonable time and we're delicious! However, after this it all went downhill. We were completely forgotten about. The empty plates remained on the table and my husband had to get up TWICE to ask for a drink. Our waitress was nowhere to be seen. In addition to this, there was two doormen stood behind our table bad mouthing someone, pacing around and then one of them did a massive beltch! Almost an hour later our main course arrived. My husband had the "fish fry" and said it was crap, boring and bland. I had the chicken curry, the rice was crunchy and chicken was very dry. Would never go back here

Having been to Tbay before, and had a pleasant experience, we booked again, our first outing in many months due to being key workers and swamped! When booking table no details about sitting outside was mentioned, if we was advised on booking we would be outside we would have declined table. Being outside and competing with a live band, we found ourselves shouting to talk, not good for current concerns over Covid19 particles spread. We understood music was not from Tbay, but made several requests to be moved / eat at bar stools which we never received any feedback from. Instead our starters and mains all come together as if in an rushed attempt to get us to leave. We unhappily ate outside. Following finishing our food, we went and sat in bar area, upon returning from toilet we noticed our drinks had been cleared, that wasn’t finished. Overall I will not return to Victoria st turtle bay, the manager was unapproachable, however waiting staff pleasant. When booking a table it said table is outside on Mathew st this should be communicated, as the atmosphere on mathew st is loud and different to the relaxing caribbean vibe we had hoped for going to turtle bay

Me and 3 family members booked to go here for bottomless brunch just last week and I must say we were disappointed with our visit here. On arrival we where seated on an awkward table as if we were sat in a line so couldn't see one another to chat and it was right beside the front doors therefore there was constantly a draft from people arriving/leaving. We asked a member of staff if we could move tables (there were plenty empty tables around the restaurant) She asked a manager and the answer was no. We continued to freeze and asked again... we weren't particularly bothered where we were moved too we just wanted to move out of the draft. Finally then the manager let us move tables. We were told when the first drink orders were taken that they couldn't come round and top up drinks or take individual drink orders - they had to take drink orders for the full table, therefore if you had a slow drinker on your table you couldn't order another alcoholic drink until that person had finished... nothing I have ever heard before when you are paying for a bottomless brunch elsewhere! However the food was really nice we all thoroughly enjoyed what we ordered. I feel that table service could be better/quicker as even when we had empty glasses we had to wait to get the waiters attention to order more drinks. For food/casual drinks this place is great but I would not recommend for a bottomless brunch.

had our first meal there this weekend. Food and Drinks had an authentic Caribbean flavor. Portions could be a little bigger for my liking but the whole package was good. Servers were particularly helpful when navigating the menu.

Went for cocktails tonight . Baring in mind had just been to berry and rye and the oracle for cocktails. Popped in turtle bay ordered a round of cocktails ( which may I add were the same price as the beyspoke bars we had just visited) . I ordered a glass of Prosecco . It came in a warm glass and was flat . 15 mins later they changed it for me for an espresso martini which was full of froth and tasteless at the cost of £8.50 a small glass it’s really disappointing my friends daiquiri was the same price again all All froth and ice and served in a small wine glass . If it was 241 I wouldnt of minded as much but it wasn’t . Really disappointing . Server wasn’t bothered either by it . Never checked in to see if the drinks were ok . Won’t be returning .

We had dined at the Hanover Branch a few days prior and enjoyed so much that we decided to try the Victoria Street branch. We tried a couple of starters this time; Sweetcorn Fritters, Okra and Chicken Wings. The fritters were lovely and coated in a sweet chilli type sauce but they were heavy/dense so recommend sharing with others. The okra was a lovely light starter; the crumbed okra is also covered in 2 delicious sauces a spicy and creamy sauce. The wings are pit smoked wings which have a good bark/char on them, they come coated in a BBQ jerk type sauce they are rather small so would be perfect for one person to eat. My friend had the Trini Curry with 2 sides; Plantain and Fries- she said both were lovely. We availed of the 2 for 1 cocktails; our recommendations are the Montego Bae and the Kingston Solero the latter is perfect as a dessert cocktail with the flavour of a Solero ice cream. Our bill came to £94 but over £55 of this was spent on cocktails so overall good value for the meal. Will definitely be back when visiting Liverpool again. Pictured is the selection of Starters.

Visited here with friends on Saturday 16th April. Chose outdoor seating which was a covered smokey shack area at the back of the restaurant overlooking rowdy hen party/stag party bars subjecting us to unpleasant scenes and very loud head banging music. Not ideal for a lunch with two female teenagers. The cocktails were pure ice and water and a complete waste of money even though they were 241. Coke was flat. Food was pre-prepared and inedible as cold/lukewarm. Jerk chicken was borderline cold but didn’t complain as didn’t want it re-heating due to time we would’ve waited for this as restaurant extremely busy. Sweet potato fries were crunchy and freezing cold. Waiter was very friendly (only positive) but overworked and we asked a few staff members 3 times for a straw and twice for salt. Would not return. We made our reservation after reading the numerous good reviews but this was a huge let down. So pleased we didn’t order the bottomless brunch with the poor quality cocktails and inefficient service.

My partner and I went to try a cocktail or two on a Saturday afternoon. It didn’t look that busy, there was a group of ladies and a few couples at the bar. We sat down browsed the menu and waited our turn to be served. With three members of staff serving behind the bar, not one acknowledged we were there or even made eye contact whilst we patiently waited. Finally when we were next to get served, the barman ignored me and served a man that had just that second walked up to the bar, so we decided to spend our money elsewhere.

Visited this establishment earlier tonight with my girlfriend and her parents and tried to order a beer bearing in mind I’m 18 but did not have id on me and was refused which is fair enough as that is there job but then I made the argument that I could have a beer with a meal with adult supervision if her parents were buying.but the manager who was rude, egotistical and immature and didn’t fail to mention that she was the manager SEVERAL times refused to accept that this was apart of the law in the uk so we left it there and continued to order and eat our food which was mediocre at best with chips dosed in an overpowering cinnamon flavour and far too much spice on everything with my mother in laws food arriving at the table 10 minutes after ours which also has a long streaky piece of hair in her meal which put us all off out meals completely. so we finish our meals unsatisfied and disappointed and as we are coming to the end of our stay I took a sip of my father in laws beer and within the minute the manager came over and stated that we must pay the bill and leave immediately to which we went along with as we had no choice in the matter as my father in law who has played a role in the catering industry for decades proceeded to tell her that this is one of the most unprofessional and inadequate dining experiences he has ever been involved in to which the manager had no word in the matter as she was clearly stumped as to what he was saying and as we were leaving the establishment the manager along with 5 other female associates stared us out the door and began muttering obscenities at us which made me feel greatly uncomfortable and angry as we had payed the hefty bill for the mediocre food with our hard earned money and we’re essentially kicked out the door for sipping abit of beer which I was well in my rights to do so. Would not recommend this establishment one bit but by all means go if you want an anger fuelled ceremony of abuse !!!

I’m usually a huge advocate for Turtle Bay - as they’re typically known for their great service and atmosphere. Unfortunately on this visit, we were sat under the air conditioning unit that continuously dripped, so not a great start. Food was delicious as always, but I’m surprised at how many good reviews there are for the cocktails! Honestly, so so sweet and syrupy with what seemed like very little alcohol. I wonder if they were half measures as typically, cocktails pack quite a punch. Really disappointed as we had about 5 drinks each but I walked away feeling sober, just with an annoying sugar overload feeling in my stomach. They were all made with what seemed like very poor quality juice. I thought I was being choosy, trying to select the ones that sounded the most minimal, but again, all terrible. Reminded me of the quality you got in a student bar. Would definitely be back for the food, but the bottomless just wasn’t my bag.
