The setting of this restaurant is really lovely just down the road from all the museums it was chosen for convenience and because the menu looked appealing. The service was very good and it was quite quiet so they were able to be very attentive. The cocktails are really lovely interesting combinations and tasty! The food was ok not the... More

We had dinner here on a weekend night, we arrived early and managed to get a table before the crowd built up. Food overall is good, we had Haddock which was really well done, they recommended us the Shepard's Pie which is a decently executed. A big advantage of this place is the kid's menu was comprehensive with decent servings... More

I had lunch and dinner there , it is very basic but the sea food is very good , service good too and wines were ok ! It has the feel of a cafe rather than resturant !

We had a very nice dinner here. DH had the onion soup and I had the celeriac with apple soup. Both were served very hot. For a main course, I had shepherd's pie served with Savoy cabbage. DH had the pork chop. The a la carte main courses do not come with vegetables or potato so you need to order... More

A beautiful building housing a lovely restaurant with excellent lighting creating a calm and soothing atmosphere. Staff very attentive and helpful. Menu good with plenty of choice with a la carte choice early evening onwards as well as normal menu. Close to the tube and a short walk to concert venue, perfect start to our evening.

Ate there several times with groups this summer, and always got the same meal. Not the hotels fault, but tired of turkey now. Food standard generally good but not great. Service pleasant and polite.

The food was fantastic, great selection of teas and coffees to accompany it. We had 4 different sandwiches, a savoury tart each which was to die for, scones, eclairs and various other delights. My only qualm is that service was rather slow, I had not anticipated waiting for an hour before we ate but I guess it was a Saturday... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
