My first visit...I arrived before my friend and had time to soak in the feel of the place. Very low key, old fashioned setting. Seat comfy, lighting low from small table lamps, waiter immaculately dressed. And so from the extensive martini menu Tiger Tanaka leapt out! The drink is prepared in front of you along with commentary from your bartender... More

My friend and I had finished our afternoon tea and decided before we left that we should try a drink in the bar. Unfortunately there weren't any seats so we were asked to wait in reception, but before Lon the nice young gentlemen came and got us to say they had a table ready. We both thoroughly enjoyed our drinks... More

A reguler haunt for an early evening martini, the best in London. Alessandro and his team are probably the most proffesional and welcoming team you will ever meet. And there mixing skills are legionary. This timeless quintisentionally British establishment is one of those places you just must visit when in London. And I gaurantee that once you steep through the... More

Covered this a bit in the hotel review, but suffice to say that any visit to Dukes is incomplete without a visit to the bar. Table side martinis are the drink even for those of us who aren't massive martini drinkers. 2 seems to be the limit so careful on your choices. As classic a bar as I've experienced.

This hotel bar is small and it filled up each night we stayed at the hotel, but we were able to get a table after a short wait. It's cozy, and has a great classic feel. Interesting drink list, and they make some of the martinis right at the table. My drink was really good. Only downside is the cost.... More

If your going RESERVE A TABLE. We waited over an hour to seat four but I was so excited I didn't care and i should have made a reservation so my bad. The bar is very very small and you are going to have to talk above drunk, loud patrons. Waiters are trying to do their best but are harried.... More

Cozy, quaint bar to enjoy martinis and having them prepared table-side is a great experience. The staff is very friendly and offers excellent service. This is a "must" for all Bond fans! It's fairly small but this adds to the ambiance. The French 75 and Vesper were delicious. There was a nice mixture of locals and tourists. Be sure to... More

Staying in St. James's

Neighbourhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
