Don't be deceived by the slick marketing and well written menu board, the food is average. In my humble opinion there are two food ingredients that shouldn't go together; top quality fresh fish and garlic. The flavour of great fish is far too subtle to compete with something as clawing and dominant as garlic. So this wasn't the best restaurant... More

Marvelous restaurant. Unpretentious environment with amazing food. The pan fried Dover Sole was the best prepared we have ever had. The Lobster and Steak was also great. Service was impeccable. We would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves fresh seafood at a reasonable price for London restaurants.

My wife and I were craving for some quality fish when we happened upon Fishworks in Marylebone. I have to admit this was one of the best experiences we've had in a long time. Very impressed with the selection of fish all laid out on the fish counter for us to choose from, it was a real dilemma to come... More

I've been to the restaurant for dinner and it was an outstanding experience. Starting from the fish counter at the front, filled to the brim with fresh fish, continuing on to the vibrant atmosphere of the restaurant. We were swiftly acknowledged and presented with a table. The waiter, Spyros was his name if I recall correctly, young and enthusiastic, promptly... More

I rarely eat the batter that fish is cooked in, but Fishwork's batter is thin, crispy & delicious. Nice succulent piece of cod, delicious chips. Only disappointment was that the mushy peas came in the same size pot as the tartare sauce ie, there wasn't very much. Service very quick, friendly staff. Washed down with a pleasant Spanish chardonnay.

Dined here on Saturday night. Very warm greeting, great food and service. Had scallops to start and monkfish from specials board to follow, both exceptional. Highly recommended.

I had lunch here today after being encouraged by favourable reviews. But we all make mistakes. My son and I both had the same starter and main course. The starter was Arbroath Smokie, which does not really need cooking, but both or our dishes arrived burnt at the edges and overcooked. We had enquired about Dover Sole but was told... More

Staying in Marylebone

Neighbourhood Profile
Marylebone offers what so many London neighbourhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
